| Homemade Camper for Honcho
I'm not sure if anyone cares for this sort of thing, but figured someone could get a kick out of it. A while ago I made a build thread on ORCRC for a new camper to fit directly on the Honcho truggy body. Here's the finished product. And here's the build thread if anyone is interested. Honcho Camper - (Budget Build!) - Oregon R/C Rock Crawlers I have done many aesthetic changes to the camper as of current, it is not completely black. has some light graphics, more scale equipment, pianted outlines, mocked up lights and a license plate. I've ran it a bunch, and so now has some scratches and (other) small carnage-related damage, I'll take some pictures if anyone's interested in it though. |

I like it, is the inside hollow? I MIT have to try to build one.

Yes the inside is hollow. It rests on (the side of) the bed, much like the shell of a pick-up truck would. This also make it lighter. It's not scale on the inside by any means (ran out of room) except for the make-shift bunk that sits over the Honcho's cabin. From a distance however it looks amazing. When I put this on my truck it adds a whole other dimension of realism to it. Yesterday a line that would take 30 minutes with my Honcho (lots of bashing and carnage) took me under 3 hours to complete with the camper. Just makes you want to drive it like a real 1:1 rig. This was also my first attempt at anything made from balsa so it does have some rough edges (so to speak) and looks more like a poorly designed doll-house than anything else, but for my purpose it rocks. |

Th camper is in slightly worse aesthetic shape than I thought it was. Tomorrow night I should have it all repaired and have something to show you all. The one opportunity I had to take pictures of it crawling I was with some other blokes out crawling and having a really great time... completely spaced it. Tonight I'm also working on a sound system for it as well. Could go up in smoke, figuratively and literally speaking. |

I checked out your build link. It is very cool. I think I may give it a try too. I like building stuff. And it appears the material isn't expensive. I have the same state of mind as you do. I like to play with it and if it breaks oh well. Thanks for making this post.

I don't think the balsa would harm the COG too too much.. but if you roll her down a hill.... lookout! Looks great, I like scale stuff like this. and P.S. can I have your rear cage |
