Re: scx10 noobie needs help

There is a thread in this section with a list of the electronics that people use in their rigs, and the FXR seems to be one of the most common setups. So it cetainly seems a good choice. I cant comment as i am running the stock stuff. A 35T motor is good so no issues there eitherand ff you run the 35T on 3S you will be smiling. Try RPP for the links.

cheers

I cant comment on the FXR. A 35T motor will work great for you if you like trail and rock. Its a pretty versatile motor. I love my HH 35T. Plenty of power, good torque, and great wheel speed.

From what I have read, a lot of people love the FXR. Again, from what I've read, it seems like you cant really go wrong with either an FXR or a BR-XL. I've got a Rooster CE and I'm fairly happy with it. No real issues so far, easy to setup, and performs pretty smoothly.

Re: scx10 noobie needs help

i run the fxr in most all of my trucks, also have a br-xl and rooster ce. i really like the fxr's. excellent controller and a very small size(easy to hide inside a electronics box) but if thats not a factor, i would go with the br-xl, i run 35 turn motors in most. you can run 3s on a fxr ONLY with a 35turn motor or higher, br-xl has no limit and can go to 6s and has a good bec built in. the fxr's bec is good also unless you start putting high voltage or really high tourqe servo's (i run hitec mg645 no problem plus i have some 240-300oz also with no problem) in your truck. i like the 35 turn motors, seem to be a good mix of wheel speed and tourqe. very good trail motor.

Re: scx10 noobie needs help

I run fxr in my comp crawler and love it. I have never had an issue out of the fxr I also run a HH br-xl in my wraith and a Castle sidewinder sv2 in my scx10 they are all good but I prefer the br-xl for the scaler stuff not sure why it just seems to work better and smoother. I also run 35t motors in everything and have heard good things about the tekin 35t but have never tried them my motors are HH and Team Brood they all run great on 3s with plenty of control and plenty of wheel speed but like the guy above pointed out on the fxr you can't run anything over 3s on the fxr but you can the br-xl and the sidewinder.

Re: scx10 noobie needs help

oh, and go ahead and spend the extra $10 bucks for the waterproofing! well worth it and good to have if you ever need it, plus you don't have to worry about doing it yourself.

Re: scx10 noobie needs help

a good motor is the tekin's although may be pricey for you( depends on what you run your truck in) a cheaper ( but still rebuildable) and decent motor are the integy's

Re: scx10 noobie needs help

there a better motor by far ( equals better drag brake and better low speed control) if your in mud alot though, you dont really need an expensive motor. less money if it burns up. but i run the tekin and love them anyway because i run every where! just clean them good after every run. you really can't go wrong with them.
