2 speed transmission

Alright So I have searched the forum for info on this but couldn't find anything if you can sweet post the link but I couldn't. Wondering if someone has done this or has info on how to do it. I love driving it around and crawling but on occasion would like to cruise it down a road take a jump or something, nothing to serious, maybe like 15-30 mph. I have a stock scx10 trans and axles and a 55t motor let me know if you have done this.

You need a summit tranny and a dinky cradle. Next time try actually searching. I just did and got that info from a thread on the first page of results.

Re: 2 speed transmission

Theres the Summit and RC4WD also has both 2 and 3 speed transmissions.

3 Speed Full Metal Transmission (Black)

R2 Black 2 Speed Transmission

You can also get the 2 speed with a dig unit. Worth a look, I don't have any experience with them so I cant tell you if they're any good or not. I almost bought a two speed with a dig for my dingo build, but decided I didn't want to spend the money. Both the 2 speed and 3 speed are a bit pricey.

Re: 2 speed transmission

i would go with the r2, its going to take up less space than a summit. here is a picture of what i did with a summit and you can see how big it is in the chassis.

Re: 2 speed transmission

with the right setup i think the tranns could be a great step up expecially with the cradle, unfortinitly you do lose space but if your doing a custom aplication you can work it in your favor.
1st you can only go so far with gear options on a axial trans
2nd you wont have to worry about spining drive shafts off

Re: 2 speed transmission

The Summit trans in a well set up scx10 can be a solid performer.
I've won Class 3 the last 5 comps in a row with mine "thumbsup"
I'm running Jason's mount, not the Dinky.

I've detailed every step of the way: http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/axial...s-3-champ.html

Re: 2 speed transmission

I have to say so fare I like my summit tranny and have tryed the R2 2 speed and like it as well but for just bullet proof performance the summit and for easy available parts the summit...

I am running the 2 speed summit with the Dinky Craddle and a 7T Puller HH with a MMP on 3cells and so fare so good...

and there are easy was to remove the slop for the summit just try this thread...
