Default Land Rover 110 Pickup

I forgot to post this here as I never really think about it being an SCX10...I just tinker with the body and drive it. Old faithful

Rovers are like a nasty infection. As soon a you think you're done with them, you start to itch again (both the scalers and the 1:1's!) This 110 is on an SCX10 Chassis...Holmes Hobbies Torquemaster 27 Handwound makes it go. Mirrored tranny and flipped skid, junfac driveshafts, RC4wd Steelies with Boggers yadda yadda yadda ;)
Never really planned to build this body, it was sitting in a Pelican case in my shop for a looooong time. I had planned to maybe run this while waiting on my HiLux body. Now I'm loving this and decided to get a Tfinder chassis to build for the hilux.
I welded up the bed cage and the boatsides...hand banged out a bunch of the license plate mounts.

Started as this a week ago...

A week to the day after starting (mostly messing with it mornings and late evenings)

Just finished doing the door handles and some rust in the appropriate spots (goddamnit Land Rover, Why no galvy bulkheads?!?!?)

Will be fabbing up a 1/4 depth pelican case-top to cover the rear body posts and a spare mount to cover the front posts (won't mount a tire there...on the 1:1's, even with the skinniest tire mounted there it creates a HUUUUGE blind spot.) Will also be adding the fuel filler for this (300TDi so it will be the squared off filler, closer to the cab) and the marker/turn lenses up front.

What would top the bed/cab off is adding some netting in the back to make it look kind of campish i guess you could say haha! The rig looks really good and i think thats what it needs to look REALLY good... I wanna see more crawling pictures!

It's another kamtec, from England (like my old Discovery)
Welcome to Kamtec Radio Controlled Car Accessories

Shipping is fast and inexpensive as well.

This body is the for the Emaxx. They have a "series" style as well as a Bowler Wild Cat. The pic for their Series is messed up right now. You can get any of them in Lexan or the ABS (like this one) The ABS is juts much better for adding detail.

Revamped the front with a Reign RC Defender Grille for a Dingo...perfect fit. Just sanded down the stock grille a bit.

The Snorkel head started as two .036" strips of hastelloy scrap I had. I cut one strip and shaped it into a "C" and that is the walls...the top and bottom are pieces I trimmed, then tig welded to the "C." First I tacked them on then shaped the top and bottom a bit better, then seam welded the whole deal. I drilled the bottom out to fit the 5/16" main snorkel pipe. The grate in the snorkel head is the inner section of an Axial light cover trimmed to fit and glued in with some metal bonding CA we have at work.

Snorkel is held in with RTV and I'm working on a small bracket to run from the cage to the pipe.
