Well like the title states, this started as a bone stock rtr honcho. I picked up a PL Bronco body last week and just finished the paint and decals last night so hope you all enjoy the pics. here is the first pic with the new top and a little wheelbase correction needed. And these are all from her maiden voyage with a propper Ford body well thats the last of the pics let me know what you think. Edit: Fixed the pictures and i have more on the way Last edited by BOBO_XLT; 05-10-2012 at 03:00 PM. |

looks great, I love the old broncos. For the wheelbase did you have to shorten it?

| Re: BOBO_XLT's Honcho gone bronco. Im not really sure about the wheel base b/c I had already messed with it a few times but all the links i used were from the original set up or the spare parts that came with the RTR but i believe the body will fit with out modifications to the stock honcho wheel base from what i have read on here. I could be wrong and like I said all the parts to adjust the wheel base were in the RTR.

Well a quick update. Shortly after my last post i was out with the truck and managed to snap the ears of the right front chub. So while i was ordering the replacement parts I decided to also replace the rear shock hoops that I had cut up to get away from the rear droop setup I had going on and I also thought it would be a good time to get a matching rear bumper so any ways everything is in and on the truck and i must admit I cant not get enough of this thing!!!! Anyways on to the updated pics. Those were all from the shake down run at my place and now Im at my parents place watchign the dogs for a few days so I decided to hit a few spots around here and all I cant say is WOW!!!!! This thing is unstoppable with the portals and pitbulls!!! Even on the brick pile that is notorious for unseen hang ups this thing is just amazing!!! I dont have any pics from the brick pile cuz i was having waaaaaayyy too much fun driving to stop and take pics but here are a few from another fun spot. Well that is ALOT of pics but I hope you all enjoy |

I don't know how I missed this. Sweet looking bronco, I'm digging the portals. Are the portals stock ? How are they holding up ? |

Sick rig. Great photos shots too. Whats your total width outside of tire to outside of tire? Did you have to use wider hex's to get the 1.9's to clear the portals? Do your portals have bushings or bearings? |

By the way if anyone can think of somewhere that might help me replace that busted gear that would be great! I can also grab some dimensions off it if anyone can think of a readily available substitute. I was thinking maybe a pinion gear from something might work. I know it has 18 teeth, looks to be about 1cm in outer diameter, and has a shaft diameter of of about .5cm.

...or you could look into the GMade R1 portal gears (Junfac). Different tooth count (16/14, I believe), but you may be able to replace as a set.

wow talk about reviving a dead thread! This rig has undergone some changes in the looks department and is no longer running the portals since I never found replacement gears for the broken portal. She's now rocking a New Bright JK hardbody and 3d printed boatsides. |
