Default Homeless Hobbies SCX-10 Honcho AKA "THE TACOMELESS"

Hey guys! I'd like to introduce the newest member of my arsenal! This Homeless Honcho Dubbed the "Tacomeless Taco"!

I've been on the hunt for a dedicated class 2 comp rig for awhile now..
Last week I picked this beautiful beast up from a great guy and forum member (Jwatts)!

As with every rig I own.. I've got some plans for this one.
Being that this taco has been well cared for and stocked with the good stuff.. My mods will be subtle and focused on performance .

I figured I'd take you all along for the ride.

What are we working with?

Scx-10 chassis with custom Delrin links
Hand Bros. CMS kit up front
Stock plastic driveshaft
Stock tranny w/ HR Hardened output gear
GATEKEEPER AUSTIN DUNN Front bumper and Sliders
Castle Mamba Monster Pro ESC
Sensored Tekin 17.5T Redline Brushless motor
Proline powerstroke shocks w/ 30 wt oil
Mayhem Engineering 1.9 Slamerz w/ MThead Lock rings
1.9 Pitbull Rock beasts
3 racing winch
Hobbico CS170 Ti gear 333oz servo
Axial Axles with aluminum all around

Plans..
Make it awesomer. lol

The Rings are from http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/vendo...ock-rings.html

and the wheels are from Mayhem Engineering - 1.9 Rims

Really digging that front bumper. Real clean. Nice work =)

Word. I've got 4 sets of wheels with MTHEAD rings, These babies are the best deal in RC.. these make any wheels look like a $200 set of wheels!

1st up... Installed a 60mm link between the front shock hoops to stiffen the front up a bit. Can't do the same for the rear so the Vanquish hoops are on the brown truck already!

I know I know.. The electronics will get a make over but that is last on the list...

im subscribing to this thread your rig is awesome...im new to scale rc i still do a little nitro touring which i love and this is next on the list... ive been debating on tires between 1.9 or 2.2 and still kinda lost in it.... but if i got 1.9 im definally running the pitbulls ive heard LOTS of good things about them

Dude that means alot comin from the guy that has the most bad ass honcho on the planet! I stare at the portal'd beast at least once a week...

Check this build guys if you want to see the ULTIMATE HONCHO! -> http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/axial...w-portals.html

I'm in need of a shorter bed like your rockin on yours.. I know DH is outta the biz for awhile so I'm enlisting axialjeepster to come up with something for me.. The current bed gets hung up on EVERYTHING I drive off of..

as for Austins work... I have had a set of his slider for nearly 3 years now and not a bend on them!.. It would be nice to see him back in the scale game.

I agree the pitbulls are amazing tires.

Also, those mayhem arent cheap! Not to mention, I dont know to many $200 set of wheels besides the new VP scale OMF wheels. Lastly the rings just make them that much better =)

Nice, Very nice. love the front bumper, sliders and the winch setup looks greats. subbed on this one. PS, those nano's tech are awesome, i run em' in my rig as well although they are 5800 mah, they have great power/run time. Your Class 2 rig looks very capable. excellent setup!

Thanks bro.. I too like to nanos but I run the 1600mah packs to cut down the weight.. they're a lower mah but the run time is amazing @ about 40 minutes per charge.

Your freaking hilarious dude... It'll be unstoppable after that damn coat hanger is off the rear.. I ran it yesterday with a yota cab taped on (I'm so HOOD) and it rocked! No hang ups.... Looking forward to that bed.

Oh and your headed in the right direction with the paint.. All the white girls love black honchos...

If your wanting to comp.. 1.9 w/ NO LIFT If you want a bash rig you could go either way.. I prefer 1.9 on the scx 10

1.9 tires go up to 4.75 THATS BIG!

Got my VP hoops today!

Super awesome upgrade if you have a honcho and cant install a link between the hoops to stiffen it up..

From start to finish.......
