Default Scx10 reciever help needed

I just got an scx10 a few days ago and picked up a traxxas tqi 2.4 ghz for it. The reciever has 7 ports to plug the esc and servo into.

The ports are:

Channel 1
Channel 2
Channel 3
Channel 4
Channel 5/batt

V/T
RPM

My problem is that I don't know which port to plug the esc into and which to plug the servo into. I have tried and can't figure it out. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

IIRC, servo in CH1 and ESC in CH2.

Sweet, hope this works. Once I plug the battery up, the tires just spin like crazy and the only way to fix it is to unplug the battery, there is no control.

Sounds like you need to bind the receiver to the radio and calibrate the esc to the radio

Ok thanks guys. I looke up the manual online and it wasn't helpful.

what does calibrating the esc to the radio mean? And how do you do it?

So I tried again with no success. Put servo on channel 1 and esc on channel 3. Steering works great, trim on controller worked but no throttle. I changed the esc to channel 2 and the tires spin.

I'm stumped and fed up. I've never had luck with 2.4 ghz systems.

Plug a servo into channel 2 and then 3 to see if the servo moves when you operate the throttle. When you find which channel is the throttle, try reversing it and then plug the ESC into it. If the servo works, but the ESC doesn't you will have to find out how to calibrate the ESC to the radio as mentioned earlier or the ESC may be bad.

The esc is good, I have seen the rig run when I purchased it(PO put in his radio for test run).

Ill try that tip but how do I calibrate my esc?

I couldn't find any instructions for the rx, You may not even have to calibrate it, but if a servo won't work with the throttle, then the ESC isn't going to work either. Easier to troubleshoot with a servo than an ESC. If the servo is moving full each way, then the ESC should work. You may just need to reverse the throttle channel once you figure out which one actually is the throttle channel.

One other thing to check is the throttle endpoints. Some ESC's won't arm if the low and/or high endpoints are not set high enough.

Not familiar with that one. Did the servo work in the throttle channel?
