| torn between 2.2 and 1.9
I can't decide which size to run I like the scale look of the 1.9s but like the performance of the 2.2s I'm thinkin I might like the 2.2s better if I got some bitchn beadlocks the offset isnt to my liking on the wraith rims I'm running some disk brakes instead of wheel hexes that keep the tires from rubbing on shocks but was wondering if I run different wheels will the offset be better than the wraith wheels I haven't seen any offset info on any wheels I've been shopping for |

I think 2.2's on the scx-10 look horrible 99% of the time... I don't see how the performance would be better either. My Honcho with 1.9" tsl-sx can go places my Wraith can't. Ground clearance is the only disadvantage to 1.9" but can be easily dealt with by good driving skills. Makes it more fun. Just my .02 cents.

^ I agree 100%. Especially 2.2's on the shorter dingo wheel base. PUKE!

Agree, 1.9's FTW. Maybe you just need better 1.9's than those flat irons. I was never happy with their performance. TSL's, Rok Lox, Pitbulls or Iroks are your friend =)

Thanks im still pretty new but I'm coming around I was a honcho wheelbase till I did the blazer body and i agree the 2.2s are kinda weird wit shorter base. I seen a maxx with blazer body.....I never realized how dumb they look lol to be honest I haven't had time to do much wheeling since changing wheelbase so I don't know how different the short wb handles Last edited by jimbob78; 07-13-2012 at 10:17 AM. |

Ima get some mad people after saying this but imo the 2.2 look better because of ur WB dose not match ur body. I would widen the track with maybe some smaller 2.2 or 1.9 that are larger like claws or boggers, add tube work and go for a ttc look but its your rig and needs to be what you want and like.

Ya I gotta just pick a size and go with it It's hard to match the wheelbase to the body because I have hr 120mm shocks and depending on what size spring I put in changes it some. So if I wanna run 2.2s I put in the full length springs an it shortens the wb a bit with 1.9s I cut them just long enough so big drops have a little spring. I think all the springs are too firm even the softest I like it best with no springs but the drop thing. I started trimming my homemade honcho size links to get closer to matching body but i left em a little long till I make a decision you can take more off but cant put it back on lol

Tire size is not only dependent on wb. 2.2's on the width of scx/ax axles just looks funny. There's a reason they're called scale training wheels...

Get Crawler Innovations to make some lower profile tires to fit the 2.2's. http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...w-Foam-2-Ten-T http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...k-Tires-Blue-2 Last edited by olblueyez; 07-14-2012 at 03:14 AM. |

X-11 or whatever we're up to. There are some nice sized 1.9's out there. HUGE difference between the flat irons and the others mentioned above. But its your choice, no matter what anyone says...do what YOU want. You'll be able to climb over more obstacles easier but to me its not as fun or challenging. If making the lines easy is your priority...build an AX10. If the lines aren't doable with 1.9's find a new place to crawl. Most of all have fun! |

Those low pros look pretty Cool I seen um on a truck in a thread I love the looks I got the wraith ripsaws the same time I got my rig so its been hard to not just put the big tires on lol I'm liking the 1.9s the more I have them on I also got a dually kit with 2 flatirons I like it but it kinda feels like cheating lol

Get bigger 1.9s if you want bigger meats underneath. Like others said, 2.2 is nice and tall but the width kills the scale look. You have a scaler body - keep it a scaler!

I say 2.2's! Yeah it takes away from the scale look a bit, but I've always been partial to function over form. The right 2.2's look great and pretty scale if the fenders are trimmed properly and you adjust your WB accordingly. I have a 6ft dirt pile in my yard, the stock axial 1.9 ripsaws make it maybe 1/4 of the way up (with momentum), my 2.2 badlands just walk right up like its a speedbump. Base your choice off your body, but remember that 2.2's DO make a difference! more track width, extra ground clearance, and a little more room to squish. You want cheap 2.2 beadlocks? those are Proline Epic rims, $22.99 CAD a set. I just saw a pair of 2.2 superswampers in my LHS a couple days ago, they are almost 2x the size of mine...
