| SCX10+EXO= Fun Project
Since I bought my EXO and was not much impressed with it I have been trying to figure out what to do with it. I have an older SCX10 that was ready for a rebuild so I thought I would see if I could make something a little different out of the two. I have finalized which of the Exo parts I will use and figured out how to put it all together. I am waiting on a few things from RPP before I can start final assembly. The cool thing is I will still have enough parts from the EXO to do an IFS Wraith if I choose to go that direction. V Last edited by Vengeance; 07-31-2012 at 11:52 PM. Reason: add image link |

About 3 days ago I almost posted a thread asking "why has no one stuck scx10 axles under an exo chassis?"... This should be interesting! I like the exo but it seems to be missing something. Crawlability!

I am on an android tablet and the posting and image linking seems a bit sketchy. Let me know if the link does not work. V |

The main mounting points are utilizing the 4 shock hoops, although the images were taken before I went that route. I will be using the Exo body panel. The lights will not be the Axials shown in the images, I am going with Gear Head LED bars. The bumpers will be switched out most likely with the RC4WD stubby. However, I am not sure if the scale bumpers will go well with the different size of the Exo's cage bars. V Last edited by Vengeance; 07-14-2012 at 08:03 PM. |

| Probably cuz it's not a crawler. That's like saying the wraith is missing wings.

Like the thread title says, its a "fun project", not a crawler. My comment was based on the fact that every other Axial truck i know of has some crawlability. Just for you, I'm gunna tape my 1/16 summit to the bottom of my 450 helicopter. That way i can crawl and fly. Woo! | |

| Re: SCX10+EXO= Fun Project So great, now I need to incorporate and electric gyro or tandem rotor into the design??? LMAO I was going to make a hexcopter after this build... I have a lot of finishing work to do... Detail interior Paint wheels Paint body panels Detail Cage Mount and wire all things electronic.... so on and so forth You guys know the deal. I cannot wait to get her done though. It has been a while since I did this. I use to be deep into the RCMT world 2004 and back into the 90's. Anyway, I put images up as I make progress and yes eventually a video. Thank you for the support. In truth it is all of the great projects on here that motivated me to do this. V |

It now needs some detail work... Going to add some paint elements like panel and rivet lines, maybe a "Remember Reach" paint tag. Needs a fan r some detail on front shroud. I will also get 3-4 fuel cans for the rear cargo are like the Warthog has. The roof and hood are from the Exo kit. The side panels and front shroud are made from sheet aluminum. All is painted with SEM flat black self-etching primer then sprayed with under body coating for cars and trucks. All of the lights work including all of the gauge and control panel lighting. Need to come up with a wheel or something for Spartan 117 to control the vehicle with. I am currently using two Traxxas waterproof servos, but I need to upgrade to something a little more HD. It is powered by a Novak crawler ESC and Traxxas 550 brushed motor from a many years ago E-maxx I had. I have weighted the front wheels and it rock crawls pretty darn good. The battery is mounted behind the tranny where the SCX10 chassis curves back up but in front of the shock mounts. V |

Okay so with moving three times, being in a severe car accident, and the rest of the mess life has thrown at me, here is a cheesy video of the functional project. I still need to do a lot of detail work on it... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i0V-...e_gdata_player Vengeance a.k.a Electrofied |
