Removing Bump Stops for a Bit More Articulation?? Hi everyone. I was just wondering what the advantage of the bump stops in the stock SCX-10 shocks are?? I've searched for threads about removing them, and they all linked me to a blog post on Axial's site, but when I clicked on the link it says that the post no longer exists. I was wondering if there would be any drawback to removing those bump stops?? Thanks. Jeff |
Re: Removing Bump Stops for a Bit More Articulation?? The only draw back would be more flex/travel = better crawling. Unless it makes the tires rub too bad on the body. Most people just cut them out but i would remove them because you may need them again ( with that D90 body your looking at"thumbsup") Best way to remove them is screw off the lower rod end. |
Re: Removing Bump Stops for a Bit More Articulation?? Okay thanks. When I build the D90, it will be off of a fresh chassis. My wife has pretty much taken ownership of this Honcho...so I need my own SCX-10!! :ror: |
Re: Removing Bump Stops for a Bit More Articulation?? That's a pretty nice problem to have! In that case...she'll love the increase in articulation. |
Re: Removing Bump Stops for a Bit More Articulation?? Alright, I took the bump stops off tonight and got myself a bit more articulation. Not a ton, but it's noticeable. I like the flex now...it still seems pretty realistic, but gives it a bit more room for getting over and up on things. |
Re: Removing Bump Stops for a Bit More Articulation?? I think the stock honcho flex is perfect and would never remove the bump stops. I think im in the minority though. I have a lot of miles on my honcho and have never wanted more articulation. More usually causes more trouble than it's worth. |
