i just helped my buddy build a dingo and i have an old honcho kit.so i got the 4 link bits that come with the dingo and am wondering what difference is in actual performance between the stock 3link and the optional 4 link both with aluminum links so stiffness should be the same

I wouldn't say it gives you more articulation, rather that it gives the suspension a better geometry and more adjustment. Too much articulation is bad and can hurt performance. I would do the conversion if I were you. Try this link......TRS Magazine - 4-Link Suspension |
