Just got my first scale rig!!! I got a Dingo kit with Honcho servo/esc/motor/tires and an HPI radio almost new off of fleebay.

Now on to the customizing!!!!!

The body came prepainted, but was missing the windshield. Wasn't going to buy a new body just because of that, so I made one.

Started by making a plug.

Then had my first experience with vacuum forming.

First windshield didn't come out very good at all.
Little more sanding, lower heat, and the second one came out pretty nice. Not as good as what came with the truck I'm sure, but it works fine.

Lot's of parts on the way now!

Axial light kit
Wraith interior
Wraith seats
Axial interior acc. kit
Proline roof rack
Lots of led's (20 of them)

Will post more once the parts get here.

More updates!

Installed the Pro-line roof rack and Axial light bar.

Then upgraded the upper 3 link plastic system with an aluminium 4 link setup.

Time to get to work on the body now.

I had to move the body furthur backwards because the guy I bought it off of mounted it wrong.

Next, it was time to cut out the old flat interior.

Still need to trim it for the Wraith interior.

I got the trimming almost done.

Tomorrow is the Baltimore Grand Prix so I wont be getting anything done.
Maybe on Monday I will get a chance to fully install the interior.

Have a happy Labor Day everyone!!!!

Thanks. Interior is comming along slowly, but nicely. Will have more pics in a few days.

Ok, I spent the weekend looking at real interiors to get some ideas.

Not much in the way of usable info, but it was fun!!!!!

I put on some alum. diamond plate to hide the old body holes, and give it some bling.

It's been slow going. Trying to get everything lined up, cut, glued, etc. Need to keep it slow for now so I don't forget anything. Still need to paint, assemble, paint, add details, paint (in that order I think). Drive you crazy tring to pre-plan everything in the correct order.

I have the rear balkhead finnished. The door skins are cut, but only mocked up for now. Same for the seats.

Here are some shots of the interior taped into place.

And a shot from the bottom.

Anyone know of a paint that will work on both Lexan and Styrene?

Ok, more progress...
Got the interior finished and painted.
Those holes in the front are for battery clearance.

Test fitting into the body.

Time to add some details

The gearshift is going to control the led's in the body.

This what ya lookin' for? It's an early pic before I started most of the work. The light buckets in the bumper now have lenses in them also.

Thank you. I was looking for a light bar that didn't mount to the top of the basket because it would get beat up pretty bad. I also wanted one with a roll bar across the top for further protection. This one fit the bill pretty good. The Pro-Line basket fits nicely up in behind the light bar.

It is the Axial light bar that comes with the Wraith and EXO. It also came with instructions and parts to mount it to the Dingo and Honcho, along with a universal mount.

Just waiting on the led's to get here and brighten it up a little.

So, here it is!!!!!
The interior is finished!!

When I glued the interior in I screwed up the paint.

So, what's a guy to do???

More diamond plate!!!

Here it is all put back together.

Here are some action shots for you guys.

Thanks for viewing.

I need a driver now!!!

Stay tuned for the wheel wells and other scale additions.

Came out great! The one shot of the front windshield looked off. Are going to do something there? I know you had to make some of it. Really think the diamond plate and light bar look great too.

Thanks.

I would love to replace that windshied. It doesn't look as bad as it does in that shot, just the light hitting it wrong, but yeah, it needs to go. Anyone got an extra that they are willing to part with???

Where did you find the diamond plate? I've been trying to find some, but been very hesitant to buy online because it's hard to tell what the scale really is. The diamond plate you've got looks awesome.

Looks great! This thing looks a thousand times better than the honcho in my opinion. It makes me really wish I had a dingo instead of a honcho.
