| We climbed 2036 feet!
Hi all, a couple of days ago I decided to give my self a challenge which was to drive my SCX10 up the highest point on the Isle of Man which is Snaefell. It's 2036 feet high and to begin with fairly gentle, then towards the second half my RC could climb it easier than me! I'm 16 and just enjoying my self so I thought I would share with you guys To put it simply, my scx10 is really very standard, the only modifications were some smaller tires, moved the battery to the front, wheel weights and removing the bump stops. This just goes to prove you don't have to spend hundreds of £'s on mods!! Here are the pics: (the ones at the end are from how it looked at the end, in front wheel drive only and missing a couple of things off the body from some tight squeezes haha) |

If anyone fancies doing the journey with me some time I would be happy to go up it again, a few different routes there too. In fact, the whole island is heaven for RC! trails, water runs, rock climbing etc |

Wow, very cool man. Did you start down on the shores? How long did it take and how many battery packs?

I started right down by the little building, as that was the entrance to it I had 4 battery packs prepared but one didn't work at all and I only needed a tiny bit of the 3rd one. I'm not sure how long it took me to get up there but it was a great trail! I didn't have a winch fitted but could have done with one, would have saved me a lot of time and battery power haha. So in total I used 2 and a little bit to get up there, and the rest of the 3rd one for the way down |
