first scaler, relocated electronics...

so this is my first scx10 i pickd up a few days ago. so far, i love it! last few days ive been running the piss out of it and also doing free/cheap upgrades to it.

first thing i did was tore down both axles and cleaned them and added in some marine grease.
open the trans and did the same thing.
plasti dip the esc
mirror/flip the motor/trans
and now i moved all the electronics back and lowerd the battery

i know everybody likes everything up front, but i hated the messy look.

my next mods will be a dx3 remote, new steering servo, then new shocks and the A mount for the rear shocks.

Looks good. I run my electronics in the rear also. The receiver box is behind my shock hoops like a gas tank and my ESC and BEC sit on the cross member. I don't have any issues with weight at all.

I would recommend getting either a spur gear cover or maybe zip-tie to keep wires away from the spur gear. Kinda asking for trouble with the wires straddling the tranny like that - can suck that loose wire right through if you hit a bump. Otherwise looks good!

I did the same thing with my electronics... didnt want the antenna coming up through the windshield or anything, looks much better coming out of the rear. As far as wires in the gears... I agree, mine has a shield of sorts. I used the front part of an old RC10T chassis that makes a bend upward and bolted it to the rear cross members. This gave me a nice flat spot to velcro my radiobox and helps keep the wires out of the gears.

Check my mini-build thread for pics...
