Default Whats the best shock out

Hello everyone. Im new to rock crawling. I have an scx10. Stock
I removed the oil and removed bumpstop. But i dont have much flex
And ive seen some pics on here with some crazy flex.
I want to get the most flex posible .
So far im down to HR shocks or gmade shock. But. Looking for other opinions

soft shock setup = torque twist... don't get too hasty, i did, and way to much torque twist. If you want to get max flex, get the gear head rc rear shock relocation kit, but make sure the shocks are close to the stiffness in the front. To avoid torque twist. But this is just my expirience talking. Oh ya, and make sure to put the dang oil in!

I got a set of T-Maxx shocks made by Associated. They're barely a quarter inch longer than the stock SCX-10 shocks, but have the same amount of travel as an AX10/Wraith shock. You can set them soft so they keep the ride height low, but they'll stretch like mad when you need to flex.

That, and they come in sets of 8 so you can do 2 rides with one set or sell the other on eBay to recoup some $$.

I'm not saying they're the best, but they're the best I've found.

Doing the GearHead relocation in the rear helped a ton. But like some said it will take some fine tuning to avoid a lot of torque twist. I also just ordered GMade PiggyBack shocks for the front and a set of aeration shocks for the rear. Hope they work good should have them here by the weekend.

I might be wrong but the gearhead kit wasn't designed to give you more articulation it was designed to give a scale look while also letting scalers run a drop bed set up.. The fact that is gives you more articulation is because it angles your shocks. 90degree stiff 45degree soft
I've seen people run the level3 lift kit sideways which allows them to angle there shocks and gives room for tuning...

With that said I don't run either kit and my suspension is similar to the man above...

Atre they the ProLine PowerStrokes? If so I have heard lots of good words about them, but I couldnt spend 40+ dollars on 2 shocks that were not really that scale looking to me. But they may be a very good shock as I dont know from experience with them. I will share my experience with the GMade as soon as they get here..... They landed in New York as of 7am this morning. Hope to have them here by Saturday.

Anyways most shocks will requir a little fine tuning with either different springs or different weight oils and such to achieve the right mix between hard and soft. Middle of to much or to little flex..... I know my stock shocks have worked pretty well for the TTC I have entered but it all depends on the rest of the rigs lay out, battery mount, mirrored trans, size tires and wheels.... those kind of things make a big difference to each setup.

I used Traxxas 4761 shocks. They are old school aluminum shocks that predate the traxxas big bores. I really like them. They look ok, and the stock scx10 springs work fine on them.

Side by side with stock

installed ( i removed the preload clip after)

Are you running these? How are they? I have heard the 103mm is a bit much for the SCX-10. I'd like to keep stock height, a little bit more travel, and be able to hit the bumpstops before a wheel comes off the ground. The stock Axial shocks are great, but look kind of cheap. Hows the fit and finish of the gmade?

I ordered the 90-100mm shocks to stay close to stock height . I have not gotten them yet, but will let everyone know how they are ASAP .
