Or....
2nd you could get a fine drill bit and drill it out.
I've done both and had success. Just depends on how bad the set screw is.... Good luck.

in addition to the above, you Might try heating it up with a hair dryer or heat gun, helps release Loctite if the has been any used. Just don't melt the plastic

FWIW... I purchased a "lightly" used SCX-10. The motor was shot, slipper clutch toasted (slipped going up a incline), bent frame, etc. I paid a whopping $200 and it came the stock ESC and all Spektrum stuff. All said and done it came with a perfect body, 1.9 tires (mismatching) and 5400MaH Lipo. I am happy, I have put a little over $400 into it, and love it every moment. Since I was going to replace everything, I figured buying a used one was the same as buying a brand new one, except I'm not afraid to scratch up the used one.

managed to get the grub screw out with a 1/16 ball head driver.

but i still cant disconnect the drive shaft , i guess some one used too much loctite on it , ill pop in the freezer for an hour or two to see if that helps .

Maybe some heat? Try putting some debonder on it. I've had luck with that.

i dont have any debonder on hand, option two is to somehow remove the e-ring on the other side , so i can get better access to the shaft. i need to buy some traxxas replacement e-rings though since i only have the smaller tamiya ones.

Take the other side out, remove screw holding plastic driveshaft in. Replace plastic driveshaft and continue . That's what I do.
