I'm with Bryan. Sounds like the motor wires are reversed. Did you have to reverse the throttle channel on your radio to get the truck to go forward? The traxxas ESCs are setup to run 100% forward and 50% reverse. You can change this setting. I'm sure their website or a manual could provide more info on this. If the motor wires are reversed the ESC thinks reverse is forward and forward is reverse. So it is giving you 50% power forwards and 100% reverse. Be careful with this reversing wires if your motor is at anything other than zero timing. If you are running a stock Axial motor, it is zero timing though, and not a problem.

it is stock 27t motor and i hooked up the red to the red and the black to the black. my radio is in the normal position, i just switch the wires motor to ESC red to black and black to red, and now it seems that it goes faster forward than reverse, but now to go forward i have to pull the trigger twice. i havent looked on the traxxas website for any help yet!

What setup are you running. ESC is the Traxxas XL-5 Radio:????? Receiver:???? Battery:????? Motor: Stock 27t Axial. I would go on the Traxxas site or YouTube and recalibrate the ESC and calibrate your radio to the ESC. Sounds like the double trigger pull is for reverse. (Forward with Brake and Reverse) Pull trigger once for brake and second for reverse. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Note (Phablet) |

Swap motor words. 99% positive it will fix your issues, then reverse the throttle channel and re calibrate. Sent from my Transformer using Tapatalk 2 |
