I packed the axle tubes and never had a problem. Red N Tacky is a decent grease to use.

I put grub screws in the four link mount holes at either end of the axles if you don't have a four link mount fitted. I found the red n tacky seeping out of these during a run in the sun and the grub screws fixed it right away.

Marine grease has worked for me. With beef tubes it's kinda hard to pack the entire axle, but coating all internals is not an issue.

i used " grim racer speed grease" from aquacraft. it is used on the flex cable on the nitro boats. with a good coat over the gears and axles i havnt had any issues with it washing off or flinging off. just dont over pack tha tranny.

Marine grease has worked great for me. It's got a thicker consistancy and is waterproof. It is made to withstand water applications.

I use marine grease - it also has anti-corrosion additives

Marine grease will have better washout protection than most. I use Lucas Oil Marine Grease - comes in a large tube at Lowe's for like $7. Bought one in November 2011 and still have it today.

I run the Lucas red and Tacky. It lubricates well enough, but doesn't stick to the gears very well. I'd say it's easily displaced. To combat this I've drilled holes in the axle and trans cases for a setscrew so I can regularly grease them with a needle fitting using the same grease gun I use for my 1:1.

I give them grease until it oozes out the pinion and axle shaft bearing areas This ensures that the case is full so that there isn't any room for water. It also "purges" any possible moisture out.

I'll occasionally add a couple ml dropper full of Lucas gear oil stabilizer to the mix. it makes the grease more flowable and sticks much better to the gears.

i use el-cheapo autozone green grease. i pack the axle tubes all the way to the bearings and pack the pinion side of the diff, leaving the other with some air to prevent too much drag on the drivetrain.

never had it wash out, when i crack my axles open it usually looks just as fresh as when i put them together.

I've used Tamiya anti wear grease to seal trans and axle housings, it's good for running a bead around the edges and makes a good seal so dirt stays out.Packing axles full of grease is the stupidest thing ever.

I use Mercury 2-4-C, its a great marine grease and since i'm in the industry it's cheap and I know it works. No melting or oozing in the heat but stinks to high hell.

I agree, but most people are of the belief that if you pack the axle full, it places unnecessary amounts of stress on the driveline. I agree with them, as I can feel a difference when turning the gears by hand after I've packed grease in.

However, I don't think this as big of a deal for crawlers as it would be for racers. Stress is stress, though.
