Steering is a good start if yer gonna be running bigger tires or tires with weights. Get some aluminium chubs and steering arms. Robinson racing all steel gears in the tranny so when you put a better motor in, you won't break your outputs on the tranny. Any of these can be a good first upgrade.

I regeared mine and went with aluminum links since mine was a TR. since then I mirrored the trans. I would say weight is a good one, and definitely browse the tips and tricks thread. There's lots of info in there.

Too vague to help really... Tell us a little about it.. Which model? Is it a RTR? What type of terrain do you drive it on most? HOW do you drive it? Like a maniac or super slow? What are you using for a battery?

Mirroring the trans is a free upgrade, that works! Flip ur skid, pull ur trans apart an put ur output shaft out the other side an mount ur motor back on forward.. its a deff improvement!
Aluminum chubs an knuckles for sure.
Mip drive shafts.
Ur gears will last for some time, but steel outputs are a good thing to change or have ready for back up.. my stock gears lasted till I ran my HH 35t handwound on 4s for a couple rough runs.
Weight in the front wheels, beef tubes are sweet..
1.9 pitbulls, have watched them outperform many of diff tires.
Lol, easiest way to say it, is.. in the end, everything..lol..

enjoy it and upgrade as things break. i went with 2.2 tires and started to upgrade things i broke. i bent the plastic links pretty quick after going to a 55t motor, the drive shafts didnt last much longer, with the links came the steering links and then shortly after i managed to strip the teeth on the steering horn, thats what will go first, after that its all in how youdrive it, i beat the tar off mine and i havent done anything to the spur or trans gears yet. stock knuckles too but theyre on the list as i expect them to go next

Castle bec! When the rtr servo tanks get a good hitec servo and locking metal horn. If you have the new wild bore drive shafts keep them till they fail. Metal links are a must. After that just enjoy it fix what brakes. Read up and watch a few videos like Harleys deadbolt one. To give you a few ideas. Then watch the classified section there is some good deals to be had.

if you plan on any axle upgrades DO THEM ALL AT ONCE!!!

put the beef tubes, new stronger lockers, under/over drive gears, CHubs and Knucks, steering, CVDs, and whatever else you find in at the same time

I've stripped my axles down too many times to count as I slowly put these upgrades in, it would have saved a ton of time and hassle if I had done it in one go

I just installed the aluminum steering links today. I think this going to be a really worthwhile upgrade. As the weather has gotten warmer I've noticed that the plastic links are way too flexible.
