| Swapped a Honcho for a Honcho!
Been 1:1 crawling for years but, just recently got into a 1:10 rig. Picked up a new SCX10 Honcho and immediately wanted to build it into what I eventually want my 1:1 rig to be. I need to learn how to work styrene to get the details (grille) right but, I got it to a point that I like it, for now. Here's the 1:1 '78 J10 on 1ton axles and 37x14x16" Iroks on 8 hole beadlocks, AMC 360, 4spd manual, Dana20 t-case, 4.10 gears Here's the 1:10 Stock 27T motor, 93T spur, 13T pinion, 43/13 diff gears, JR DS8711 Servo, Dinky hitch, RC Rock Armor winch bumper (front, still need to buil relocation plate), 2.2 (58.3x22x22) Iroks on 8 hole beadlocks. I wish Interco would build an Irok that big! I'd run 'em! Last edited by KJ10; 11-11-2012 at 07:02 PM. |

Looking good, aren't you on ifsja also? There's a thread somewhere on here where they built a j10 out of a clod body.

you probably want to go with 1.55 iroks to get it to be more scale

Yes, I'm on ifsja. Like I said, I'm building this to be what I'd LIKE my 1:1 to be. I'll probably go back to 1.9s though. Would put me at the 47" range which is a realistic size for my truck.

If you go 1.9s, I would lower the body a bit. Then you could maybe build an interior as well. I hear the pit bulls are a good tire.

The pitbulls are an amazing tire! Have watched them out hill climb on loose muddy terrain, rock climbs, wet, dry.. all around awesome! My.02...

Found a use for part of the original bumper. It sits a bit far out from the body but the height is right. Just needs paint and the winch I'm waiting on. The bed "frame" sits about 2mm above the slipper clutch spring so lowering it would be very difficult. I'd post a pic but I can't get a decent close-up with my crappy cellphone cam. It barely passes as a camera, at all. |

Winch arrived today. I am really wishing I hadn't thrown away all those old computer parts when I moved last year. |

Looks good, what winch did you go with? Have you figured out a way to tackle building the grille?

Bulldog 9300XT Wireless. Nice little keychain comes with it! MJ/XJ grille center section might be made to work as a razor but, I still have to figure out the round light thing, and get better at forming this stuff.
