| Crawling newcomer with lighting question
Hello, This is my first post. I recently bought a honcho and of coarse haven't had it too long and already want to upgrade. Currently i have only upgraded to the aluminum link kit, but I have new tires, wheels, lead weights, and springs on the way. I am still further looking ahead and am wanting a roof rack with a light bar. Currently I am looking at the following for a combo: 1/10 High Performance LED Light Bar Pro-Line Scale Accessory Roof Rack My question is if I can just plug into the stock axial rx on channel 3. I still only have the stock TX. I really dont care about being able to turn on and off, not important to me. Or will I have to have a Wye servo lead an splice in with the stock lights. Thank you for your time and sorry if i rambled, just from my reading I know you guys like details. |

Looks like you should be able to plug it into the RX no problem if you're using 2s. Try it out.

I have a LED Light bar on my XJ, I cut the RX plug off and soldered a 9V plug with switch on the hot and mounted it on the side of the body right above the sliders. I can switch it on and off and it doesn't pull any power from the main battery. I also am running 3S and didn't want to risk blowing the LED's on it. I've got a BEC, but with the way my luck has been going...it would of broke. I can snap some pictures if you would like later tonight and post them up.

Yeah I really wouldn't want to run it on auxiliary power source. I am currently using a traxxas 10000 mah + battery, I can run about four hours straight now so I'm not concerned about drawing from it. Just not sure if I needed a 3ch tax to work lights I know I had to use a wye on the throttle channel when I had my slash but that also had functioning brake lights By the way thanks for the responses |
