I usually just run what comes with the axial kits, 30wt. But with the scx-10 shocks good luck on actually keeping any oil in, most of the time you will see it leaking on to the axle

The invisible kind.

They leak so bad I don't bother anymore.. I just give them 5 drops of the stock 30wt oil for lubrication. Gives the suspension more of a realistic movement on rough terrain that way anyway.

On a heavier, faster truck I didn't like the stock oil...too much bounce and unpredictable response on hard, fast hits. I've run as heavy as 70 and it made my SCX much more manageable.

Not sure how everyone else is assembling their shocks, but I don't have problems with them leaking. Take your time so you don't nick any O-rings, and lube them first and you should be ok.

Give it time my friend and they will leak ...stockers are notorious for it whether they come on a rtr or you assemble them yourself they will leak ..i have purchased a rtrt honcho and the shocks leaked in no time ..i also have a built dingo and put the shocks together myself(done right ) and they still leaked in no time ...just my 0.02 worth

I run 50, I'm sitting right around 9.3lbs. My stock shocks don't leak, never have. They are buttery smooth and compress all the way by hand with no resistance other than the spring.
