| SCX10 Kit "must have" upgrades ?
I just ordered a SCX10 /Dingo Kit and will be replacing the Dingo top with a Pro Line 2009 Jeep Wrangler Top. From must have to least what should I also order? At this time I am thinking about running the Tekin FXR ESC/35T combo or the Holmes TorqueMaster Pro combo Thanks everyone Steve |

Steering servo, anything is better than the stocker in my experience.

3mm fine threaded bolts for chubs, knuckles, rear lockouts. Build it that way from the start. Same goes for servo mount while we're at it. Other than that, there are two upgrades I require on my scx-10's after several years of running them hard.. Steel tranny gears and aluminum steering knuckles. Don't know what you have planned for wheels and tires.. If you were planning to run what comes in the kit.. You need bead lock wheels. Gluing tires on a rock crawler/scale truck is just dumb especially with the wheels that are available these days. Oh, and definitely go for the Holmes combo.. No comparison to the Tekin.. I have both.. Only reason I have an fx-r is because Holmes didn't make the br-xl yet. |

Stock transmission outputs are weak... get steel driveshafts... And then...

Same servo I got! I like it! The Idler gear and the drive gear. I'm pretty sure The kit comes with an aluminum top gear.

I recommend the upgrades in this order... Robinson Racing tranny gears, aluminum links, universals (stock steering blows), servo, aluminum knuckles/c-hubs/lockouts (VP all the way) and then MIPs. You will want a 300oz.+ servo for crawling. I recommend the Solar Servo D772 off HobbyPartz.com. You can get four of them for the price of a Savox or Hitec and with a few coats of Liquid Tape, they're waterproof. After that you, you'll have a pretty bomb proof rig. I highly recommend the BR-XL and TorqueMaster combo - I have the BR-XL and TorqueMaster Pro 35t in my Honcho and love it. Just be sure to take care of it. Fink |

Well I got everything ordered but my head is spinning on which LIPO to power my Holmes TorqueMaster Pro combo 35 Turn motor. The maxamp hard case stuff: Hard Case Race Edition LiPo 6500 2-cell 7.4v Battery Pack, SCX10 TR Packs, Lipo-6500HC-74-Pack looks nice but very expensive. Then I also can'r decide on either a 2 cellor 3 cell pack. What will going from 7 to 11 volts do for me? I was also looking at the Gens LIPO for much less money, yet do you get what you pay for? Need some last advice Steve |

a better servo for sure, 300 oz. may be a bit much for a scaler, but something strong for sure, i use a hi-tech 5645mg (water-proofed) also drive shafts (cvd's i think would work best) the plastic shocks tend to leak so i would ditch them as well. find a way to lower the battery while keeping it up front for good balance.

mmp esc with a 13.5 brushless sensored motor, 3 cell lipo battery, vp 8 degree chubs and knuckles, vp cvd's, metal tranny gears and a cc bec with a 7950 servo, mip driveshafts, and a winch with a futabe 4pl. Those are must haves. |

I'd say some high steer knuckles, and cvd's. That way you can max out the steering angle. Then to continue that theme, overdrive gears for the front axle, and underdrive for the rear. Helps turning and climbing. Get a good servo, say above 300 in-oz. Last edited by Manning; 11-22-2012 at 02:03 PM. Reason: had trouble typing correctly..... |

Change of plans, instead of purchasing the dingo kit, I decided to go alacarte. In regards to axels. Do I need 2 AX30488 locked axel set? Do they work for the front and back |
