Default Project (ViP) Honcho

Hello fellow RCers! I recently did some trading for my newest RC to sink some more cash into hehe! It's a cool little honcho (thanks matt) that already had several cool upgrades done to it. It currently has a Novak brushless 18.5 system, MIP shafts, bobbed rear cage, and some nice aluminum wheels. One of the main Things I wanted to change was the axles. I have a wraith and a tf2 and love the looks of their axles so I decided to go with the VP scx axles. I am really happy with how the rear turned out! I still need a truss and servo mount for the front! Here is some pics!

Some of you may have noticed my skid under the axle. As all of you know thes axles aren't cheap and I had a issue with scratching up right off the bat. Another problem is the arb diff covers are flat on the bottom face and look like they would hang you up pretty easily.

So I cut a piece of metal about 6.5 mm wide and cut it off real close to where the bottom of where the diff would be.

Is also cut a piece of metal and bent it about 45* on one end and close to 20* on the driveshaft side. I also drilled the 4 1/8" holes and bolted the small pieces up and used a table belt sander to get the four pieces flush with the bottom of the diff.

Then I just tacked the piece to the four tabs. I also Sprayed the axle with anti splatter shield to protect th axle which worked great.

Here is a pic of the completed piece!

Final shot

That's pretty bad ass! Love the axle, you should pick up a dinky interior kit for that bad boy. How do you like the motor/esc combo?

Yep I like it pretty well! My wraith has the 2 speed & pro 4 combo so it's a lot different. I'd like to 2speed this but not the top of my list. Thanks

I thought I'd bring in some pics of the front axle it has a Vanqish locker and MIP shafts!

I also am playing around with ride height and tires. I installed my original wraith shocks and my 2.2 tsl's

Thanks for looking!

That looks sweet, it has come a long way. I loved that bike (except the John Deere paint) and you did her justice! ;)
