Default 750 size motor on an scx10

Has anyone done a 750 motor, like the summit motor, on an scx10? I did a search but found nothing. I'm just looking to try something different .

Anyone who has any info, input, or opinions post away, even if you think this is a bad idea.

I tried to mount my Mamba Monster 2650 on my scx10 once, that didn't work. Trial and error I guess, if you have a 750, try it.

It's been done just not to the axial trans...... Motor mount up front to t case. Imo too much raw power

I'm kind of wanting gobs of torque, and have also considered the dewalt drill motor but the summit motor is more readily available locally

What makes you think the dewalt motor has high tq? The motor really isn't that great. Imho

That's funny because people put them in their summits all of the time...

Funny cause they are cheap finds..... Not that they are good. Plenty of other options that have more power and tq. Silly since I'm a 35 year old self employed general contractor who had burned up well over 10 dewalt drills over the years.... So these parts I have ran personally years ago.... About as quality as a Johnson silver can. Kids with traxxas stuff will put any cheap idea they see on the net just cause its on the net.... Must be real. Go figure

Why not a Pro4 or Tenshock brushless, that'll give you some real power.

Have ran the pro4 and really liked it but i wanna stay brushed with this build, and make a bit of a trail capable pull truck. A couple friends are starting to do truck pulls during the get togethers they have

If it's just a longer can it should fit fine but if it's a larger diameter motor there's an issue with it hitting the trans mount unless you raise the trans or modify the motor mount plate.

First if you are going to throw gobs of power down you have to get away from 48 pitch and move to 32 pitch. If you raise trans you will be forced to either run larger spur or larger pinion to make contact. There is another way around all of that larger gearing and run the motor on the other side of the trans. Requires you to build a really solid mount for motor that is held to the trans also to keep them from spreading apart. Seems far fetched at first but can be done..... Just needs to be rigid. Alum trans case is a must.

If I remember correctly there is a dual motor system for the wraith that puts the second motor in front of the trans. With the aluminum case this may work. I think so anyway

There is a twin motor mount for the scx10 if youre not worried about it raising the cg it could be just what youre looking for, and yeah 32p gears are needed for big power but i was assuming that you had it figured out with the pro4 and everything.

Definitely have that figured out. Stripped a RR metal spur, yet plastic 32p lasted no problem
