Axial Wrangler Rubicon body parts - $175! What? Like many SCX10 owners, I love the new Axial Rubicon. LOVE IT! But also like many SCX10 owners, I think I might just get the body parts instead and put it on my own Axial. So I researched the part numbers and made my list. I priced it out on Tower Hobbies since prices and parts are so conveniently listed and prices are comparable to most anywhere else. All except for the most crucial part, the lexan tub, which is not listed at Tower so I listed the MSRP from Axial. So here it is: Fender Flares, rear - $16.99 (LXCUNG) Fender Flares, front - $16.99 (LXCUNH) Roll Cage, top - $24.99 (LXCUNJ) Roll Cage, sides - $24.99 (LXCUNK) Bumper, front - $16.99 (LXCUNL) Bumper, rear - $24.99 (LXCUNM) Wrangler Rubicon tub - $50.00 GRAND TOTAL - $175.94 Granted, the lexan body will price out a bit less than MSRP, but still, $175!?! I think I may reconsider and try the New Bright Wrangler Unlimited since they re-released them this year. $50 at Walmart and you still get a detailed body and roll cage and with removable hard top to boot. Then spend that extra $125 on other upgrades. Though I really like the lexan package from Axial, I just don't know if I can dump $175 for it. Dang it! |
Re: Axial Wrangler Rubicon body parts - $175! What? especially when you can spend another 175 or 200 and get the whole rig |
Re: Axial Wrangler Rubicon body parts - $175! What? New Bright hands down. Its plastic and has a full detailed interior. |
Re: Axial Wrangler Rubicon body parts - $175! What? wow, I was considering buying one of those bodies but now i think ill go new bright |
Re: Axial Wrangler Rubicon body parts - $175! What? Not sure if they still do, but RPP had the body in their salvage yard for $75 |
Anything pieced together like that will cost a lot. Piece together a pair of axial axles and you'll spend upwards of 150 and those have been out for years. Simmer down and wait till people are tired of the rtr take offs to buy. Otherwise grab a new bright. Not many rc companies are coming out with new, detailed scale stuff. We should be happy for such a thing. |
I know right, I picked up the new bright at Wally world id rather just get a whole other rig Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk 2 |
Re: Axial Wrangler Rubicon body parts - $175! What? I love the fact that Axial came out with the Rubicon RTR; my love of Jeeps still wants one bad. I just think that the body kit consuming almost half the cost of the entire package is ridiculous. I still may scrap the extras and just get the lexan tub and roll cage. It would be awesome though if Axial could throw a bone to all the previous SCX10s owners and release a separate body package with all the fixin's at a reduced price (wishful thinking, I know). |

Re: Axial Wrangler Rubicon body parts - $175! What? Why don't you just buy the Proline Rubicon body and get the flairs and bumpers? |
Give it a few months and the price will go below the Axial list price. There is price to be paid for having the first one on the block. |

So in my browsings of the Internet and quest for the same thing as you I found this, and what it appears to show is, and what im hoping is what we're looking for is part # AX04035 seems to be a clear body "complete", which im guessing means with the roll cage and flares but probably no bumpers for only $90. I emailed them asking about the part # but the guy said he was unsure of what was included. http://www.axialracing.com/assets/ax...ales_sheet.pdf also of note is AX04034 which is the bolt on hard top which is priced at $30. You can call me Geraldo, but just for today;^) |
Re: Axial Wrangler Rubicon body parts - $175! What? Funny when this vehicle was announced it was to be the death of the new bright body. People were being shamed for selling it for $100+. Axial is the ripoff, not the people trying to make a buck on a new bright. I know they are paying licensing fees, but so is new bright. I will say though, I like the Axial body better, but not until the price comes down. You could probably part out an RTR and keep the body for around $100 I suppose. |
^^ before we hang axial for being the 1% consider it also shows the list price of the rtr at $685 but we're only paying half that. Logic tells me if the list price of the "complete" body set is $90, in reality the price will be lower. |

Re: Axial Wrangler Rubicon body parts - $175! What? Tozrovr, the new bright is not available in all areas. And since when is making a profit a bad thing? Every RC and part you buy is marked up. Dont see any complaints about that? How about all the lowballers when you try to sell something? Fourxfunk, axial lists the Rubicon at $379 on their site. |

everywhere lists them at 379, it's MSRP that's close to double that. But, no one would ever buy at MSRP. |
