| Bender's SCX10 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon
Here's a few shots of my SCX10 Rubicon. I have made a few mods already just to see how they look. Trimmed the front "Brawler" bar for a little cleaner look out front. But, it did help save rollovers on big drops when I did have it on there. Also removed the rear tire carrier as I don't have a matching Vanquish wheel yet. Tried to do my own whip CB antenna, but it's not as scale as I had hoped. Used a round lead fishing sinker, drilled out to fit our antenna tubes. Works ok, may try painting the sinker bright yellow, like a tennis ball. Video: Axial SCX10 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon - YouTube Video with Vanquish/Currie Rock Jock axle housings: AXIAL SCX10-JK - CORONA DEL MAR BEACH, CALIFORNIA - YouTube Stats: Axial SCX10 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon Axial simple LED kit Axial 55t motor Axial 4 link truss front and rear Axial high clearance knuckles Axial AE-2 ESC Axial aluminum suspension and steering links Axial Wraith front swaybar Axial aluminum SCX10 shocks Castle BEC Futaba 4PK radio Futaba S9157 steering servo Vanquish 1.9 OMF Beadlock wheels Battery relocated to the front Homemade inner fender wells and fuel filler A few action shots: These 1.9 Maxxis Trepador tires are awesome!! A shot of the Wraith front swaybar on the rear axle. The high clearance steering links. I had to bend the 106mm tie rod in two places to clear the pumpkin on the axle housing, in order to work with the high clearance knuckles. Then, I added spacers to the ends to make it long enough. Worked great, and moves the tie rod up a little. A body off shot. More to come....... Last edited by BENDER; 03-25-2013 at 09:50 AM. |

That is the best video of RC I have ever seen! And the best you have done so far. Great location too. Now I will go watch it again.

| Re: Bender's SCX10 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon It's not bad, just have to cut the stock spacers back a little that the battery tray mounts too. I am going to do a blog post soon covering this, I will link it here when done. Quote:

looks good. it really needs better looking headlights on the body. even if they do not light up. real easy to do also. axial large light bucket and lense and a body reamer. if u want to stay axial. tamiya lenses and buckets would fit and look better. just sho goo them in. i really like the fuel neck..simple and looks the part.

I agree, the wide stance looks sweet! It will probably be a big improvement on side hill stability too |

Hey Bender, how did you get the 4-link mount to work up front with the servo mount? Are you just using the 2 mounts on the axle, wraith style?
