Default Stupid Question about the spur....

Is the spur gear perfectly centered left/right in the chassis?
I ask because I measure 4 times where to cut the hole for the spur in my interior and it's always off. It's off about a 1/4" to the right when viewed from behind with the trans reversed, spur facing to the rear.
Is it just me?
HOw do YOU GUYS measure for the spur in a homemeade floor pan?

Yeah they are off center a little bit. What I did was use a straight edge against the frame and measure from that to each side of the spur gear.
Make a cardboard template first...when you set that on the chassis you can make adjustments easily. Transfer the cardboard template and cut.
