| What should I upgrade?
I've got an scx10 with aluminum steering knuckles, 3racing winch, proline jeep rubicon 2 door body w/ accessories, and proline 1.9 boggers. I was wondering what aluminum upgrades you guys think I should get for Xmas? I also need ideas for a steering servo (would like to spend at the max $100-$150 for the parts and $20-$55 for the servo) so can you guys give me ideas and when you do tell the price of the product. Thanks!

Definitely look into aluminum links (kit or build your own).

If I had $200 to spend on aluminum and a steering servo I would go with Vanquish Products Stage 1kit and a HiTech 7955 Axial AX10 stage 1 kit Hitec RCD HS-7955TG V2 High Res. Ultra Torque Titanium Gear Servo |

Ckrc crawlers has 208 ounce steering servos for $20.00. With 1.9 should work fine . My buddy had one on his wraith with way to much weight in the wheels and it's held up great.

And btw what do you guys think of a rc4wd trail stomper? Have you guys heard bad things about them? Or are they something to look into someday?

i would ask santa for: - allthread, brakeline, rod ends -- to make your own links - maybe $30 - tools to cut the metal for links if you don't have it: dremel tool, hack saw, coping saw, files, tube cutter, tap/die set, etc. - $20-150 servo depending on how much power you want to turn + $10 servo horn - BEC for servo - $25 - RR tranny gears and RR pinion set - $50 - MIP drivelines $45 that's around $200 -- if you do all that, you've pretty much got a fully upgraded drivetrain and steering/links with the exception of perhaps lockers and axles. i'd go for scale tires personally. |

I run 1.9 boggers on my scx10 and love them.. Great for trails and mud but aren't the best on the rocks but still a great tire and not to mention there one of the biggest 1.9s

And the trail stomper isn't worth it IMHO. The axles aren't the best for strength, and there are a couple other weak areas too. I would just use that money to build a stronger more capable rig. But this is my $0.02 Last edited by radster87; 12-10-2012 at 04:36 PM. Reason: bad spelling | |

What would be a good looking tire for the axial beadlocks and they need to go with the scaliness of the proline jeep rubicon 2 door body?

pretty much any scale tire of your choice. height of tire might determine whether or not you want to run them because of possible need to cut your body for clearance. axial beadlocks can easily be customized with paint, screws, hub adapters, beadlock rings (like MTHead), etc. to get the look you want. traditionally, the TSL was the tire of choice - but now many of the scale tires have the soft compound, so they are all pretty much equivalent with one another in regards to performance.

See I have the tsl's and was wanting like an all terrain tire. But I love the looks of the proline flatirons! I've got a set with cut tread and cut foams but I want some new ones.

| Re: What should I upgrade? There are a lot of people who like the flat irons, including me. They can be made to perform well with just foam tuning.

I'm running 1.9 pitbull rockbeasts on my axial beadlocks and there awsome. They grip rocks great and do pretty good in the mud.there 4.5 inches tall and look very scale IMO.
