Default Rubi_con_Arni - Axial Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon

Hello Folks

I'm Rene from Switzerland. I'm reading in this forum for some time now but have never introduced a car. On the 29th of November I've got the new Axial Jeep Rubicon Unlimited. Guess I was the first one who got in Switzerland, maybe in hole Europe. At least I have not read anything in european forums.

I've did some mods and I would like to show you what I've did so far. I thinke the best way would be to let pictures speak first

What I have done so far:

- new body paint
- aluminum steering
- winch on the front bumper with HeyOk controller
- light buckets in the front grill with working lights
- light lenses in the bumpers front and rear
- self made roof cover
- Gear Head roof rack with light bar
- new wheels from RC4WD
- added some scale parts
- Vanquish VVD heavy duty axle shafts in front

Next I will exchange the stock ESC to a waterproofed Holmes BR-XL. The motor will stay in for the moment but I plan to put in a Tekin HD 35T in future. A budy had meassured one for me and we were surprise how much torque it has and how less ampere it takes.

Further to do list:
- wheel houses
- RC4WD King shocks 100mm
- real interieur so Arni can take a seat in his car
- paint the body black at the inside of the fenders

Here some pictures in the dark to give you an impression how the lights does. Maybe I will install stronger LEDs in the head lights and the front bumper. I even may add rock lights.

Thanks a lot!

Don't know what brand the winch is. Got it on ebay for about 90$ including shipping to Europe. It comes from Hong Kong. It came with a wireless controller also but I do not use that one. The winch is all aluminum and well done as far as I can say no. Will test it this Saturday if Snow is not a problem. We have planed a challange this Saturday were I want to run my Jeep.

I will take some close up pics of the winch and post them but it will probably be tomorrow.

The seller on ebay is rocky_models_hk and the winch is called "1/10 Automatic Winch + Remote Control System CC01 SCX10 D90 F350 Rock Crawler". He acctually doesn't have any on ebay but I know he has more as I have asked him. If somebody is interessted in this winch I could get in contact to him and get him into connection to you.

I also asked him to get them in black or dark grey and he spoke to the factory about that. They told him to think about it and may do it next year. So if you ask also for that colors the probably not only think about it

Thanks a lot! I'm glad that you like it!

For the head lights I've used light buckets from a 3Racing LED light bar, part number *RAC-LEDK03. It is actually a light bar for a roof but I cut them just of the frame. You can also use light buckets from Axial as they are the same size but for me the 3Racing ones do look a bit better as the lenses are a little bit more rounded. I used ShooGo to mount them to the body.

could take some weeks als time is always an issue. I will probably also wait for a clear body set from Axial so I can drive the Jeep while I'm doing the interior. But will post it for sure
