Talking Scx10 integy tube chassis... Budget build!

Hey y'all! Just wanted to share my progress with this budget build up of a fun, beater tube chassis. I picked up the brand new integy tube chassis for next to nothing at my lhs. Had a few spare parts and links laying around and eventually turned out to this thing. I'll post more pics up as soon as I get a chance to. Till now here's at least one picture.

Specs:

-integy cage
-venom 55t
-swampers on axial 8 holes
-lower blue monkey brand Delrin links
-hr 90mm shocks, internally sprung.
-savox steering servo
-integy aluminum knuckles
-3 link front upper link
-4 link upper rear links
-custom aluminum body panels

Still a work in progress....

Also here is a picture of my test led for my roof lights. In case your wondering, .40 cal s&w shells with drilled out primers for light buckets. Light kit should be in this weekend to finish it up. Hope you guys like the idea! I also have .380 shells for tail lights also. Anyways, here's a picture for an idea....

No prob, it's only a 4 white led forward with 2 red rear lights, so in still trying to figure out what to do with the center, maybe another light kit for the hood lights too? Mailman didn't have my packages today, gotta wait until after work Monday.

Btw, this is quickly surpassing budget build now. Ordered a few things this weekend.

- rc4wd widelock three piece bead locks
- rc4wd two face 1.9
- rc4wd t-Rex t-60 axles

Mailman showed up today, left some goods on my doorstep. Amazing how I ordered from rc4wd in California and get it quickly, order from NY shipped same day as ordered(before rc4wd) and they have yet to arrive. Not complaining because its the holidays and I'll prob get it tomorrow. Anyways, got the T-Rex T60 axles and rc4wd bead locks and tires.

I was wondering, I don't see a whole lot of threads with t60 axles, did I waste my money or are they ok? What's your guys thoughts/ideas on this?

I really dig these bead locks!!

Just a quick question. What part left is the SCX??? Integy cage, T60's, rc4wsd beadlocks... Oh, the tranny. Thats right. Not the crossdressing kind, but the go-go kind. J/K... I looks great. Your light mounds are a good mod. Late Ty.

Don't push the rex 60's too hard. They tend to break. Like every component in the 60's.
But on the other hand if you drive kindly to your drivetrain you won break any component of the 60's haha.

Got a bud that has that same cage. It's HEAVY. he tends to strip the gears in his integy axles ALOT. and twist off the integy steel drive shafts, ALOT. So be easy on the trottle. He isn't at all easy on his rig, 13.5 turn brushless with 11.1v w.o.t. but still those 60's are gonna cry mercy under that heavy cage.

Thanks for all the responses guys, and I'm not a throttle happy kinda guy, well in rc's I'm not lol. I don't really beat on my trucks either, the only one I'm hard with is my first scx10 and its built for that. I like the looks of this rig and the axles but i didn't want to spend a whole lot of dough on em so I guess since I have them ill give em a shot.

As for the only part left of an scx10, yea it's the tranny! Lol, maybe I should have posted in the 1.9 thread?!

Thanks for the compliment on the lights, I know they're not "scale" but I just thought it would be cool and different. Still working on the finishing touches. Should get my light kit in today hopefully.

I haven't had a chance to weight this thing yet but if I had to guess I would bet 5-6 lbs so far. And the body panels are aluminum so they don't add too much weight.

Think I'm gonna rock the stocker axial axles for now(got a family Xmas get together on Sunday at my cousins who has an ax10, ridgecrest, and a stock honcho, that and I need to fab upper mounts for three link) so ill get it functional and then prob after the first of the year swap axles and give it a go.

Liking the comments, and i always appreciate any and all input/thoughts/likes and dislikes.

Finally got the axial light kit in the mail to finish my lights. Still in trial and error mode and I'm not fond of the wires across the roof but it will do for now...

Had to remove the center shell because of the 4 lights only, looks good like that I think.. Any comments?

I did however finish the shells for the rear tails out of 10mm casings!!

Need suggestions on small 2s lipos for concealment. The big green venom pack is temporary lol

Anyways here's some pics:

Got all the rigs ready for the family Xmas get together. Cousin has a course he built for him and his son, so I'll be taking mine over with me tomorrow. Finally got all my parts in that I ordered. The only thing not going this weekend is the jeep. After you guys informed me of the t60's I think they're going under the jeep and not the integy cage'd crawler. It doesn't get driven much and it's built on the conservative side so I just need to build the links and a truss' for the 60's.

Anyways, I'll snap some pics of the get together and crawling tomorrow.

Btw, I need some advice on a decent 2s lipo that's small for the tube chassis. Any suggestions??
