Nice one mate, a fellow Qlder with a super lifted Honcho ... I run mine lifted too! Is it the Aussie terrain we have to conquer that demands ground clearance

I don't lift any of my honchos I just run 2.2's and 90mm shocks, I do a lot of up hill crawling so I need that nose planted

Cool - my trails I've been trying to combine, and find a "cheap" balance between radical undulating rock and vertical dirt hill climbing with the one vehicle - hill climbing is my preference though!!! - here's my vids. So far I've been making it on 1.9's with a Level3 lift kit and the stock re-oiled 90mm shocks - then I had a dollar or two to spend. A week ago I removed the lift kit (which gave 15mm lift) and replaced the stock 90mm dual rate SCX shocks with Wraith shocks which were "mega" cheap ($15 for a set if 4 assembled and oiled). Made a massive improvement, didn't lose any ground clearance but got a huge improvement in articulation and stability. Should have skipped the $20 lift kit and $10 shock oil and done this straight up At the same time I surrendered to going to 2.2's - originally I wanted to keep my rig stock on the outside but I have since ordered VP SLW 2.2's - they still havent arrived. |

Yeah I looked into the lift kit and read up and bigger shocks just do the same thing, I run the standard 90's and run 100mm on another rig and just that bit of extra hight is a noticeable difference when trying to trail those vertical slope.

Yes the lifted ride height can be an issue on steep slopes. My truck also has the battery tray moved forward and lower and sits in front of the motor, and I have been running a 1600mah lipo to decrease weight. It definitely works well at climbing rocks in creek beds etc. I'm thinking about removing the springs and cutting them down by 5-10mm to bring the ride height down closer to stock, but still slightly raised.
