Took advantage of my day off to get some new goodies installed. Making steady progress on my build. I'm addicted to scalers!
Got my VP High Steer Knuckles installed. Also got all of the Ti Linkage from VP as well.

Body Finally arrived too, man, its cooler than I thought. This will be my first hard body, so I'm going to take it slow. Picked up some primer and some color coat. Going with a rootbeer color with some very slight metal flake in it. I think its going to look sick. Also got the super cool pack of sand paper at hobby lobby. It is a Professional Modeler Pack, it has 320, 400, 600, 1000, 2000, 4000, 6000, and 12000 grit. I didn't know it went that fine. I have a lot of body prep ahead of me.

After much head scratching on how to mount to body, I had an idea. I took some of the stock body mounts and cut the nipple off the end.

Then I snatched up some industrial magnets form work and attached them to the posts.

Got everything installed, I think its going to work, these 4 (two on the posts, two on the inside of the body) will easily support the weight of the truck, it take about 10 lbs. to separate one set. Also took advantage of the break in the rain to get my primer coat laid down. Getting close.

love the build!

That sandpaper... sheesh what are modelers sanding @ hobby lobby? primer stops at 600 -1000 grit (the finer for the metal flake- deep scratches from coarse sandpaper will mess with the flake) all the rest are for color sanding and for doing things like refinishing headlights and clear plastic.

Thanks guys, The hard body is a huge pain in the ass, got 3 coats of primer on it and all wet sanded. Now that I look at it I may not even color coat it.

Got some more work done. My VP OMF bead locks came in, got those paired up with some LockedUp Rings and TSL Swampers. I scratched the root beer idea for the paint and went with a satin black. Color coat is down, just need to dull coat it. I'm staying away from clear coat, I wanna keep it flat. Starting to look damn good.

What do you guys use to mock up a cage? I need something easy to bend so I can get a good idea of what I want for the rear.
