Default Gearing Suggestions

I did search the forum, but couldn't get anything specific. I have a quick gearing question. I have a Holmes Hobbies Trail Master Pro and BXRL coming in the mail. I will be running 3S on 2.2 tires. Should I drop my pinion or up my spur? Or vise versa?

Dropping pinion AND upping spur do virtually the same thing. Either change makes the rig go slower and you should only need to do one. Is slower what you're after?

You didn't state what motor turn you're going to.

Its a 27 turn, I really just need to know, because of the larger 2.2 tires if I need to gear down a little to keep everything running cool.

Yeah, I would just change out the pinion. That's the cheapest solution. Maybe a 16.

Thought I would hijack this thread a little instead of starting a new one, I am going to be running the same torquemaster pro brxl but with a 35t motor running 1.9 rock beasts. Will be used for TTC type obstacle courses so I am looking for the best all around torque and wheel speed. Looking for suggestions for gearing

Battery will mainly be a 3s but I only have one 3s and lots of 2s so it will be running 2s once and a while
