Default Losi xcelerion 17.5t Brushless in a Honcho

Hi I have a chance to buy a used Losi xcelerion sensored brushless setup. Would this setup on 2s be slower than the stock 27t on 2s? Is the xcelerion a good setup? Thanks

It would be faster lower then"t" the faster the motor. The stock motor is 27 t so yes it would be faster.

You can't compare turns brushed to brushless like that. It'll be slower than a 27t and a lot more power, gearing can get some speed back.

I was thinking there were different rating. I wish it was all the same it would be a lot easier. From the searching I have done I think it would be comparable to a 35t brushed. Does that sound about right?

Acctually you can. I did it and it's correct on my tacon 1200kv its 23 turn wich in turn is faster than my 27t which it is.

I am still trying to get this figured out. I pulled up several different answers from searching. If the brushless motor is rated in turns wouldn't be the same as a brushed motor in turns?

That's about right.

This RCMEDIC seems confused in everything he's saying, no way a 1,200 KV motor was faster than a 27t, about a 55t in speed. I've ran 27, 35, 45 and 55t brushed motors and 13.5,18.5 and 21.5 brushless. 21.5 is close to a 55t and 13.5 is close to a 27t.

Pretty sure Holmes has a chart on his site that list KV for brushed motors, looking at it will help you decide where the speed falls.

Anyways 17.5 is a great wind for an SCX, it'll make you very happy IMO.

It will be slower than the stock 27t on 2s? I am looking for a little wheel speed. I wonder if I can make it up with gearing? I really don't want to buy another lipo to go 3s so I was thinking keeping it 2s.

It'll be slower but have decent wheel speed. You can get some back with gearing, if you do decide to go 3s it will be faster than the 27 on 2s.
