Default Project: Orange JK, Scx10 Rubicon

Hello all i just got a new project in.

I got it off a buddy of mine and some of you may recognize the picture. (noob)

I plan on making it look more like and expedition jeep. roof rack new bumper light bar the whole thing.

First mod I did was aluminum steering instead of the stock plastic. It will be changed out when i receive my stainless steel steering and link kit. But it will work for now.

Heres another picture.

So I was bored today and while cleaning my area i came across some wheels and tires i forgot about and decided to try them out on the jk. i originally bought these for a ttc truck that's still being built they look really good but you get maybe an inch of articulation before they start rubbing. i do not remember the width of the hub im using but a wider hub and taking the fender flares and they would work great. Maybe if i can get my hands on another body ill try it out.

I just made orders to rc4wd and rpp hobby so hopefully ill have some good updates next week.

So i took the jeep out for its maiden voyage outside with the 2.2's because i just had to see how it drove. It was ok but the tires rub waaaaaay to much and will actually bind at full steering lock. either way i had a fun time only stopping because the snow got too fluffy and i was just sinking in and the electronics are stock lol.

Pics!

I Really love the orange, I have plans to do mine up as a tribute to the "Crush Recovery" Jeep at SEMA. Is this one painted on the outside?! I havent seen anyone with the clear bodies in stock yet. Not to sound too negative, but I would stick with the 1.9s... 2.2's just look too big and cant really run too well on the rocks no? Just my opinion. I think you can find 1.9's in the 4 inch height range so they will look a bit bigger than the stock tire, but not too tall like a 5+ inch tire.

Yes its painted on the outside. and yea im going to be sticking with the 1.9 trapeadors that come with it i just put those on there for fun and couldn't resist running them lol. if i had wider hubs and took the plastic fenders off it would probably do better and i may still do that just not with this body lol.

I have a couple of questions. First what brand of paint is the orange? Second what wheels do you have on it in the first picture? You have that looking great .
