Default Sweet new VP 2.2's

Hi everyone,

My new VP SLW V1's in grey with red beadlocks arrived today. I can install two to take this picture but there's a problem!

I was firstly disappointed to find the hex hub screws were imperial but I got over that after digging around in the toolbox for some old allen keys.

Then, assembling the second pair I find someone made a total balls up with the screws. I only got 2 imperial hex hub screws instead of 12 and I have 18 button head screws left over after installing the beadlocks.

It takes 5 weeks to get anything posted to Australia from the US

Here's what I've done to get all four wheels mounted using the 14 hub screws I received with 2 pairs of wheels - there should have been 24.

Three screws in the two rear wheels and 4 in the front two. There won't be any terrain conquering for me until Vanquish sort this out.

You can see the difference in the beadlock button head screws - I can't use the 18 left over button heads I have in the axle hubs

5 weeks for postage is BS, I get stuff all the time from the US, and it never takes that long. Normally 5-10 days.

No way!!! That hurts.

Who are you buying from and who is shipping it?
I've placed at least 10 orders in the last 6 months with different suppliers, US and UK, the average postage is about A$40 and nothing has arrived in under 4 weeks - the longest was 6 weeks.

I've been trying to get everything I need from onetencrawlers in WA because it only takes 10 days.

That's not a problem for the wheels.. its a problem, but not for the wheels or hubs. It will not hurt the hubs or wheels to run 3 hub screws.. tho while it sucks not getting all ur screws from vp..

A pile of ppl, including myself only run the 3 hub screws, I run mine on my xr that way, surely it gets an takes lots more abuse. Bein a moa it takes more torque as well.. not saying you can't dish out abuse or torque.. just trying to let ya know you can run the wheels without worry of bothering anything

With that said... Truck looks great an them wheels look awesome on it! Really makes it all pop... What red hub stub covers are they?

it should hurt because you are getting the shaft. USPS flat rate to your door is $16.95 and no more than 10 days.

there have been a few rare occasions Aussies have complained to me about long shipping but never more than 4 weeks

I see another problem....

You say those are 2.2's, but they're really 1.9's.

Most of the time it's through the classifieds right here on RCC the best place to buy, I just wish more people where willing to ship OS, for local purchases I use TTS.

Actually the 2.2 Flat Irons do say 2.14 x 4.84 on the sidewall as his pics show. I have a set. The 1.9's say 1.52 x 4.2. Unless you were busting on him as his 2.2's are the size (height) of many 1.9's now?

Thanks for letting me know that I can run it the way it is. Would have killed me to switch back to the old wheels while I wait for this to be sorted.

The stub covers are RH05's from RC4WD

just call up a hardware store/industrial supply blot place, they should have em, just get some 4-40x1/4" cap head screws, will probably cost you a couple cents each.

Look on the sidewall of the tires, the size markings. The markings that say "2.14 x 4.84" is what is molded onto the 2.2 version. The 1.9 Flat Irons say "1.52 x 4.20" on them. So the tires he is using are the 2.2 versions. Not the 1.9's you say he is using.

OK, so I am wrong. There's always a first for everything.

VP only makes these in 2.2. I stand corrected.

If AU is anything like Canada, the package will sit in customs for at least a week, usually 2, it happens to me EVERY TIME i buy something from the US. I can ship stuff to the states and it gets there in the time its supposed to get there, drives me crazy and is the single biggest thing i hate about this hobby
