| Waterproofing and Winter Funz
Tonight I finally got around to waterproofing the Honcho that I got my brother's step-kids for Christmas. I need to finish putting marine grease in the axles. I used some marine grease in the stock servo and covered it in liquid tape to keep most of the water out. I also removed the stock electronics box and replaced it with a medium project box from Radio Shack. I made a small aluminum bracket that bolts under the battery tray screws and attaches to the project box with servo tape. The ESC and receiver just fit, but I removed the lighting system to keep things less complicated. I cut out some notches in the top of the box for the wires and used silicone to seal everything up. Of course I had to test it out before handing it over to the kids, so here are some crappy cellular phone pics. I'll post some better pics of the Honcho and my brother's JK once I finish waterproofing it. |
