Default vanquish knuckles

I am looking at getting some new knuckles for my truck and was looking at the vanquish knuckles, the high steer and the 8 degree, what does the 8 degree do for the truck, what does the 8 degree stand for?, anybody using any of these, what are you thoughts on them?

The 8* is the kingpin inclination. Gives you less wheel scrub while turning.

Do a quick search on kingpin inclination & you'll get more info.

ok I got a good insight into tbe kingpin inclination and steering set up but now, does the high steer help more or does the 8 degree kingpin help more from personal experience

depends what you want the 8* is 8 degrees of caster, it makes your wheels lean over when turning, scale guys don't like it because it's unrealistic, but it does give you increased turning and allows your tires to clear the shocks better in high steer applications.

cant say its too unrealistic, my bronco does that when cranked to one side, so the high steer do the same as the 8 degree but being more realistic?

no, the high steer is vertical kingpin (standard), but locates the arm/linkage closer to chassis. benefit is that now a straight steering link will not hit the diff/bulge on the axle, and the knuckle arms won't hit the mounting screws for the C-hubs anymore, thus allowing max steering travel (if you have CVD's and EPA adjustment to allow this)

someone can correct me, but similar effect to the 8* setup is to simply clock your c-hubs back a couple degrees so that when turning, the caster angle changes. this can be done with clockable C's or with non-adjustable C's + new holes drilled in the housing and beef tubes inside to anchor to.

Almost every axle on the road has king pin inclination. And the 8 degree does not stand for caster.

The VP 8* knuckles are also high steer.

The VP High steer knuckles have 0* inclination.

Hope that helps.

ok so the 8 degree knuckles are best bang for your buck when trying to go high steering as well as moving the link up so it ckears the diff also giving a little more clearence in the front, correct? so after that I need a new radio and new cv axles?then my front steering will be maxed out mostly right? which cv axles should I get, and I like spectrom (bad spelling I know)radios, which radio do I need to get or should I get

Either vanquish steering knuckles will work great. You just need to get a radio that can supply a greater turning effect than stock( rtr) to take advantage of the knuckles. I highly suggest them . Also a longer travel steering arm. To take advantage of the full effects.

if you get the 8* knuckles you MUST get the 8* c-hubs to match. if you get standard inclination, you can use the plastic c-hubs if you want. as for radio, really depends on how much you want to spend ($50 or $500)
