Default Easy BEC wiring

Hello,

So I posted a couple weeks ago asking in what situation do I need a bec and what will it do? Not that you guys weren't helpful but I could not for the life of me. Figure out how to wire it without using an extra channel since I have plans of using my spare channel for aux lights that can be turned on and off.

So too the easy way to wire. What you'll need:
BEC ( I got castle creations 10 amp)- $20
Servo wye harness - $6
Soldering iron and solder. I'll just assume you already have one.

If you don't have castle link tell your lhs when you buy and they should hook you up. I had my output voltage set to 6v since that's what I could find as the Max input voltage for my servo. The lhs did this for free.

Next, warm up your handy dandy soldering iron and solder the red bec's wire to the red wire and the black wire to the black wire on the esc's battery plug.

Finally take your servo wye harness and on the male end ( side that plugs into the rx) remove the red wire. In my case the middle wire. Then simply unplug your servo and plug your wye into the rx. Lastly, plug in your because and servo into the female ends of the wye.

That's it your done, go enjoy your more powerful servo.

Hope this helps someone. I'm a little slow when it comes to wiring if you know what I mean, and was overwhelmed when looking at the million different ways you can wire one of these things.

Thank you

Will I blow my lights if I set the bec to 7.4?

No. Since you remove your power wire on the male end of the wye there is no power going to the rx/lights. Your rx is still powered by the esc. Your esc has a built in bec that will regulate the voltage to your rx and lights. So essentially you have two bec's one internal ( in you esc ) and one external ( the one you just installed). The external bec is dedicated to just your servo.
