Default Scx-10 scale comp crawler

I've tried googling and looking in this forum. But. Either I'm dumb/blind or a complete noob.
I have a AXIAL SCX10. And I want to build a Scale comp crawler. Basically lookin to get the best out of the truck.
If I can get some help on best shocks to go with. Motor/tranny. Is 2 Speed good? Tires/weights /esc. Brushless or brushed
I'm looking to compete in scale competitions So would like to have the best truck out there.
Thanks in advance to all who help. And sorry. If there's already a topic like this that I missed.

Been searching for 2 months. So far. I got HOT RACING air shocks with reservoir. But they suck ! Was thinking also to purchase the RC4WD 2 speed tranny.

Not many have recommended any hot racing shocks in recent memory. A 2spd trans in unneeded in a scale comp.

Build a solid rig within spec http://sorrca.com/rules/2013rules.pdf and practice then practice some more.

some of the useful upgrades which most are doing-
proline powerstrokes for shocks as upgrade
trans stock is ok, u should go for the rrp internal metal gears etc
MIP drive shafts
holmeshobbies motor and brxl esc if stock combo not enough
metal links
better servos

I agree with all of these but the biggest low dollar upgrades you can do are to put your weight as low as you can get it and towards the front of your truck. I also recommend better lockers and over drive gears in the front. I am cleaning house in our indoor scale series and mine is mostly stock. Upgraded electronics and low center of gravity. But that is about it. Lastly practice. The more you drive your truck the better it will do. Good luck.

Overdrive gears in front, underdrives in the back, robinson steel trans gears, MiP driveshafts, no dig, better lockers (hot racing ones are good and cheap), aluminum knuckles/chubs, axial front cvd axles, forward mounted battery and electrics. 1.9" beadlock wheels of your choice with weight added to the front wheels. Alu/ti steering and suspension links, good hitec servo (7950 or better) and finally, pitbull tires. 2 months of searching on here and you couldnt find this info??

Lol. Thanks for the info. No not really. I'm still. Not sure. If to fix up my SCX. Or buy the TRAILFINDER 2 and comp that.
I already ordered. Proline scaler shocks. And axial dig unit. For my scx. I did see a lot get the pitbull tires. What's your opinion on the new bright jeep body. If in want to use truck. For competitions?

A trail finder 2 is not nearly as capable as a stock scx. I have both and my trailfinder has been upgraded to a 4 link rear suspension and a reworked leaf front setup and its decent but wont climb like my scx does. Also not sure what kind of "comps" you are gonna be doing but if the comp is more about crawling and less about earning scale points i would never run a hard plastic body like that walmart jk. Lexan is lighter and takes far more abuse. You need to do more of your own research

O I ordered the new bright scale jeep jk. I've seen people run the land rover body. D90. I want to be realistic as possible. But be able to compete. I heard people mention the OVERDRIVE. Does it matter if I just get the front or do I need the UNDERDRIVE for rear as well?
