| Part Request: Functional Tail Light Assemblies!
I would love for some manufacturer to step up to the plate and fabricate some functional injection molded plastic direct-fit (bolt on) replacement tail lamp housing assemblies for the new Rubicon body! (may also work on other bodies such as Proline, ect.) I'm talking about something that look's just like the non-functional OEM Axial tail light's that come with the kit... but uses housing's that accept a common LED through the back, and uses translucent red lenses to let the light through the rear and side of the housing's The closest I've seen so far is the set Gerry designed (great job Gerry!) which is now being offered by Krawler Konceptz... these do look pretty good, but still not quite what I had in mind. The only other set available at this point (to the best of my knowledge) is the lexan set offered by Dinky R/C. These are a bit closer to the style (look) I would like to see, but installation requires painting of lexan inserts, and also requires cutting out compatable hole's into the body... close, but still not quite what I'm hoping for. Would anyone else like to see (be interested in purchasing) a direct bolt on fit OEM style functional tail lamp assembly? Speak your mind in this thread! Maybe with enough interest we can get a manufacturer to step up and fabricate a new set for us! Last edited by BodiBuilt; 01-29-2013 at 12:06 PM. |

Try to help us understand..what exactly you would like to see... Is it a complete Tailgate piece, prewired plug? |

something that is easily bolted on in the stock location and doesnt require any body mods other than maybe a small hole to accept the LED. I have the new JK and i put the axial light kit in, but the rear red lenses are in the bumper and dont look that great. would like to move them to where the taillights are but im a newb so hacking up my new body isn't something i wanna try just yet but would like to make it look a little more scale with some cool taillights. Thanks To quote bodibuilt.... YEP! Mike has the right idea... Anyone else interested in a set? I would think they would be extremely popular and sell out like ammo! |
