I decided to clean up and update my built thread and add some current pics. Just ordered some 110mm King Shocks today, so those are not pictured yet, but it's coming along. Just got it all put back together after to steady stream of parts coming in the mail. I still have a lot to do on the body but I am really happy with how it is turning out. I haven't driven it since I've gotten it back in one piece, weather permitting, that will change this weekend. |

Looks great man. Anyway you would put up a running price list on this build with tax and shipping? I want to build up pretty much the same thing. Keep up the good work.

I don't keep track of price lol. Close to $1200-$1500 I'm guessing. But this is really my only hobby and I'm single with no kids so that helps alot with expendable cash lol. Thanks for the kind words guys, anyone in the Houston area? I need some crawlin' buddies.

| Re: Old School Yota It is probably close to $1500 with the cost of the original truck. I should have gotten the actual kit version instead of the RTR, could have saved a few hundred. But at the time, I didnt know I was going to go this far with this one. I could almost build a second SCX10 with all of the stock parts from the first. It seem like a lot to spend on what is essentially a toy car, but, compared to other thing its a cheap hobby. I was really deep into the sport bikes for a long time, and it was nothing the drop a grand for a new exhaust system or tires ect. ect. on a bike that already cost $10,000, so this is definitely cheaper and safer hobby!

Got some more work done. Body is finished for the most part. I got I dull coated, all the trim and accessories on it. My King Shocks came in, got those mounted up. I also snatched up some 1.9 TSLs from my LHS and stretched them on my Vanquish OMFs! 2.2s just will not work with this set up, but I like my rims. Also did some fab work to get the body to mount more secure, took a wile, still need to paint it to hide all the putty but it is solid as a rock now! Here are the 1.9 TSL Swampers stretched to fit 2.2, they actually went on really easy and I'm stoked on how they turned out. New King Shocks on, lots of flex! Here are some shots of how I secured the body to the frame. I did a makeshift turnbuckle system, so I can tighten and loosen it if necessary. I used some JB Weld Putty to make a mounting bracket inside the grill. I need to get it all sprayed black, but it holds everything really tight. |

What are you going to with the back half of the truck? Are you going to go with a flat bed, truggy, or a drop bed?
