Default SCX10 and K44

HI all, just joined the forum. Hopefully my first post won't be a silly one. I've been looking at some of the builds and have been amazed by the level of skill and detail and thought it would fun to give it a go.
I was looking at buying an SCX10 kit but wanted to change to leaf springs and K44 axals and top it with a Clod body. So before i drop $300+ on a pair of axels is it possible to run the K44's with leafs and SCX10 chassis? Any guidance would be much appreciated.

Thanks Jakester i will keep up the search. It's obviously not a common mod so i may have to rethink my approach.

Really nothing too uncommon about it. rc4wd has ubolt kits for the K44 axles, so you can definitely mount them on leaf springs. Then it's just matter of mounting the springs to the SCX10 frame, which isn't an out of the box option, but is doable fo sho. You might consider starting with a different platform, tho. There's a lot of other chassis options, many meant to be leaf sprung. Again, search here is a good start and rc4wd has tons of options. Find the wheelbase of that clod body before you buy. It's not an odd size, but keep it in mind. Mounting a body is the easy part of this job.

Rcbros. Makes a leaf conversion for the scx10.

You are going to lose all kinds of artication changing to leaf
But to each his own

Thanks for the replies guys. The main reason i was wanting leaf springs was for the more realistic look.
Maybe a High Lift is another option albeit a more expensive one.
Can the SCX10 wheelbase be shortend to match the Clod body?

IMO I would stay away from the highlift as it will not be as fun and capable as the scx on the trails(even if you do your leafer conversion to the scx)..also if your wanting to use a clod body for the build your going to want to stick with or as close to the dingo wheel base as possible as the wheelbase of the clod bodies is 11" from center of wheel well to center of wheel well, and the dingo's base is 11.4" i believe someone correct me if i,m wrong ..but suonds like an interesing build for sure as the k44 axles are sharp looking and can,t beat leafers for scale looks ..hope some of this helped cheers
