The part number for the bottom o-rings is axa1179. There are 2 o-rings in the bottom separated by a spacer.

Make sure to use the green slime on the o-rings when installing them and to be slow and gentle while pushing the shaft thru the o-rings.

I saw someone mention there was a Traxxas o-ring that was a tighter fit and cured leaking. I cant remember which o-rings they were though. My fronts are leaking like a sumbish.

I tried a traxxas blue x-ring but couldn't get it to fit in place of the stock orange o-ring. I ended up leaving the x-ring on the shock shaft and screwing the cap back on with all stock o-rings in place still. It won't screw on fully, but it has stopped all leaking till i get new shocks.

I used the correct axial o-rings and instead of useing the spacer I used one of the old o-rings in each shock as the bottom seal and havn't had a problem with them leaking yet. I did it about a month ago and taken it out for a few good runs.

I build all my shocks that way, but the Axials won't stop leaking no matter what. I even went so far as to slide the o-rings onto the shaft and then into the shock body and then install the lower screw on seal retainer...they still leak. I just refill them every so often, but it's a pita and messy. I removed the travel limiters which I think makes them more prone to leak because they are such small displacement that there is nowhere for the oil to go when the shaft and piston compress into the shock body, therefore oil eventually just leaks out little by little. All four of mine have wetness covered with dirt around the lower spring cup etc, I clean em off with an old toothbrush to keep the dirt from damaging the o-rings.

Hmmm...good idea I'll have to try that.

Are everyone's leaking from the top or bottom? If from the top, bleed some oil or quit flipping your rig on it's head so dang much, lol.

You could always stop putting oil in them.

Really for the 5mph mine goes I'm not going to bother with the oil in the shocks.

I think It's a little diff when a lot of us are using them for our comp rigs.. its even slower but its more for performance an tuning, not in a scaler..

As for proline shocks.. that's personal opinion. Like most things..

I rebuilt two of them with 3 o-rings an building the other two with green slime.. I'm goin to see which lasts longer. I'll report back once the first one leaks.

The green slime is to use when you slide the seals on I use it on my seals also. I put it on all 3 seals before I put them on. The deal I see with the 3 seals makes the seals squash together and seems to make them a little tighter fit.

Looking for anything new someone is trying..

I'm running 3 o-rings an slime on them. Works good, I just run a slightly lighter shock oil to compensate for the nice snug fit of the rings..

I have this same problem with my SCX10 Rubicon kit. Oil leaked out before I even drove it.
