Default jebster's pseudo truggy

Awhile back I picked up a set of rc4wd evo tracks. I love the tracks and put them on my scaler ( jebster's scx10 ) but decided I didn't like the look. So, a new project for my other almost stock scx10. Decided to make a truggy. Well, almost a truggy. I wanted something that would bolt onto my existing scx10 frame. I'm going to make this pretty bulletproof. VP axials with VP cvds and titanium rear shafts, VP lockers all around, brushless Crawler esc/motor (novak goat 3s I have on hand), axial tranny with full metal gears from axialjeepster and several other upgrades.

Got the VP axles on the way so I decided to start on the cage. Has a lot to go but I'm happy with the start. Got a few pics of the progress so far.

Made some progress. Rear cage is pretty close to done. Also made up a front bumper. Decided to add a integy winch to the bumper because I think they look great. I may still have a servo winch behind it but we'll see.

I plan on have tubes running around the front wheel Wells front the tips of the front number to the front of the nerf bars.

Here are some pics of the progress so far.

Its been awhile but I have made some real progress. Most of the bolt on cage is finished. Just need to clean it up, drill a few more holes, join the front bumper to the fender arches and then paint. Also got my axles put together. VP housings, lockers, cvds in the front, HD stainless straight shaftes in the rear, and integy different covers. Also upgraded the tranny with aluminum housing and mip driveshafts.

A lot more to go but it is taking shape. And now for some pics.

Thanks guys. Hoping to make some progress this weekend. I hate the cleanup work. Wish I had access to a sandblaster to get it ready for painting.

Finished he metal work and painted the chassis. Came out pretty nice. Started putting things back together. More finish work to go but I'm looking forward to the end product.

I really like it man. Someone else mentioned that they're not a fan of tracks but that you managed to make it work, I totally agree. Great job! I'm wondering though, would you run into clearance issues if you lowered the ride hieght a tad and pushed that front axle out just a pinch?

Thanks. And you listed two of the changes I was hoping to make. I want to get the tracks a little further up. I still have the stock scx10 shocks but I do want to swap them out for something a little shorter. I also plan to stretch the wheelbase a little, both front and rear. I still have my original links but want to go with VP titanium links about 5mm longer on each end.

Have pretty much wrapped this rig up. Need a set of lights up top. Probably do an integument light set (5 circular). Also need to add some accessories to the back, which I'm open to suggestions from others. I upgraded the servo to a 7950 to get more steering power.

Got some pics here. Also have a pic of the scaler family. As you can see I really like a specific color!

Great work! I love the detail in the cage area. The tracks always remind me of like a snow recovery vehicle. As far as gear for the bed, I vote just basic recovery style gear such as a jack, shovels, axe, etc

I'm hoping to make it down to a few CT comps. If I do I'll toss it in the truck.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll throw some of those items on and see how it looks.
