Finally getting one! with the combination of the HT store credit and a REALLY good night at work, i will be placing my order for an SCX-10 Honcho in the morning!!! SO EXCITED. nothing else to report (and more importantly, no stupid questions from me), just really excited to get a scale crawler and do some trails!!!! |

Re: Finally getting one! Kit or RTR? Any particular reason for the Honcho? I'd take the JK over the Honcho. The JK has mounts built into the bumper mounts for a front/rear sway. I like that. Wheelbase is a tad longer on the JK, tires are a bit taller... |

Only reasons I can think of would be Price and Looks. Maybe the extra $ for the JK is too much? Maybe he likes the Honcho body? Either way, I'm with you, JK > Honcho OP: Congrats & welcome to the addiction! "thumbsup" |
Re: Finally getting one! Cool, you will love it. "thumbsup" |
Re: Finally getting one! whats the JK? i ended up not getting it because tower was out of stock. still waiting. |

It's a upgraded scx with a diff body.. check it out on there sight.. |
Re: Finally getting one! ah, i thought it was the jeep but i didnt see the JK connection to jeep. aside from slightly bigger tires and wheelbase, is there anything else different between the 2? |

The Honcho and JK wheelbase is the same. You get different bumpers, tires and body with the JK RTR. If you get the kit then you get different shocks and the hardtop. You can buy the AX04035 body kit and put the JK body on the Honcho chassis if you later decide that you want a jeep. |
Re: Finally getting one! ah, well if thats it then ill probably stick to the honcho. im not too much a fan of the jeeps, personal taste tho. i have to assume they perform the same (if you put RTR next to RTR) |
Re: Finally getting one! What you do to your Honcho is going to have a bigger effect on performance than buying Honcho vs. JK. Just a few ideas to start with: add weight to the wheels, relocate the battery for a lower center of gravity, remove the bump stops on the shocks, metal links, change from 3-link to 4-link. Not to mention after about 2 season of crawling you will probably need to replace the body anyway due to all the rock rash. |

and to answer your question the jk in stock form performs worse then the honcho due to the battery being in the back of the truck,, everthing else is the same, just paying more money for the new body and new tires,, |
Re: Finally getting one! thanks for all the info, im glad my first choice was the good one |
Re: Finally getting one! Enjoy your new toy, there are so many things you can do with a honcho. |
