Default battery relocate on the Rubicon

so I went to relocate my battery to the front of the rig, going length wise like the honchos but my screws aren't long enough.

Im having a hard time finding M3 corse screws that are longer, what is everyone using for hardware to accomplish this.

and anyone know a good place to get bulk corse screws in different head types

thanks

The 3 included flathead 3x30mm tapping screws should do the trick.

Eek, not sure. They were in my kit, and now that I think about it, I'm not sure they were the coarse threaded tapping type. They may have been standard m3 machine thread. I know they work though.

If you don't have any then 30mm is the appropriate length, but you can probably get away with chopping 5mm off of each of the spacers to lower the tray some and use 25mm. It would be a good idea to lower your CG.

yeah for sure

would you happen to know where to get tapping screws online, my LHS doesn't carry those and I'd like to get a bunch anyway for other projects.

unless you live in Canada, the smallest stuff i've found is M4 and in very limited lengths and no flat heads

No need to stay with course thread self tapping screws. Fine thread machine screws will usually work better anyway.

You could order up a screw kit from Harley

You could order up a screw kit from Gear Head RC

You can also order screws from Chris The Battery Man

Just a couple sources off the top of my head...

It's not going to mess anything up trying to thread a machine screw in to it after a tapping screw has been in it already ?
