Default Trying to setup rc4wd 2speed in jk shift servo gets hot

I have a spectrum dx3c and I can't get it to shift right without the servo getting very hot, will cook it eventually. I have the 3 rd channel switched so it has 1 shift on setting then shift once but still doesn't matter. I have no instructions but am I supposed to have the tranny rod out to first gear when rig is first turned on. Need help for sure

I don't have this trans in mine, but I do have the dx3c and I'd guess adjust your endpoints because it sounds like it's trying to move the shifter when it's at the end of travel. I've also heard of people using a traxxas shifting servo saver, like from a Summit. Just my thoughts I've never even seen one of these transmissions in person.

NOTErized!

yepp, use a servo saver or adjust your endpoints, i am unfamiliar with the radio so i don't know if it does have adjustable endpoints, but if not the servo saver works fine.

I have been having problems setting mine up using the same trans and radio. I know this is an old post but thanks I am going to try setting the end point.
