Uh oh, which Novak is that, and are you running 2s or 3s? External BEC? Which motor and servo?

Eiger. It's on it's second pack from me. Worked 10 min before this too...... plug in the pack it went full reverse when i stopped it I saw smoke...thought oh shit lipo fire and unplugged it as fast as I could. So esc fried and it's not that old and it's a shame too cause I have all Novak in all my rigs. Now I'm second guessing them...thinking tekin. It had a cheap servo for steering and a losi shift servo with a 35t Novak motor. 2s And no bec :(

Yea that is a shame. I'd like to think it was internal BEC related and that it isn't the actual FETs that drive the motor that burnt out. I have a friend with the Eiger running 2s with a Hitec 5645 and no external BEC and a 55T Novak and it never gets higher than ambient temperature. I ran a Novak CycloneTC ESC for on-road racing in the late 90's/early 2000's (whenever it came out) and never had a single issue with it. If I remember right, most of the guys with top of the line setups ran it as well. Years later it saw a lot of bashing with 11 and 12T modified motors and still not one issue. It would be nice to know if it's poor assembly or poor component choice on Novaks part because that sort of thing really shouldn't be happening with a company that's been in the game for so long.

Be sure and give them a call/e-mail.

Here in Florida, the trails are accessible 24/7 ;)

Come down here and crawl with us in the land of "What the h*ll is that white stuff?!"

yeah I'll be sending them an email for sure. See what they say. The Esc got so hot it unsoldered the power wire from the Esc. It sure was odd since it worked fine like 10 min before. The other Novak systems I have never gave me issues till this. Sucks :( I have a spare ae2 I'll throw in for now.
